If children have no memory

until they are 3 or 4 (remember we simple like just popped out of the world, and we're so big already??). If children can't recall anything then how can a baby recall what she just did??

During the week, I had my little Aricia throwing down out phone from the cradle. We stopped her so many times, she then tried to reach for the cordless phone. Funny! When I put her on the sofa, she somehow will crawl towards the side table to play with the phone again.
Cruising on the floor, she seems to know where it is. She crawled towards it and tried to stand up. But then this time, she found a new toy to play with - the drawer.
I sat her further away, she does her snail crawl and opens the drawer. She starts fiddling with the powder puff. Did it again, and she'd crawl there.
Third example, she likes to crawl the inside of our coffee table, which is small enough for her. Pulls her away and she'll crawl back again - only to try to crawl in from one side and trying to come out from the next.

So how did she remember those barred places if she has no memory??
