Leather's stay with us

We had a special guest this school hols. SIL's family, hubby's younger sister's family, going for another holiday to Hokkaido and we kindda offered to help her dogsit Leather.

Che-che kept asking us for a dog. Well.......no it's not a trial run for the kids coz' we're not going to get them any dog at all. Can't even take care of themselves; still can take care of dog? And I'm not going to give myself additional job when I'm already so busy with the kids and barely have time for myself. I don't mind doing it for that 10 days since che-che kept asking, saying that she likes Leather etc..

Days before his arrival, I asked dad to come over to help me put up the wire mesh on our gate. SIL gave the assurance that he's rather timid and won't dare to run out. But you know it's not our dog and should any accident happens how are we to answer for it?

On 21st he came with SIL and 2 sons. Leather licked me; allowed me to stroke him but he kept barking and barking. Dogs do sense things, he knows something is not right - he's going to be abandoned.
Mom came by and Leather, who was already out of the cage, ran to her licking her. Jumping on her excitedly. I say coz' my mom still have that dog smell. Heehee! Our last dog was put to sleep in 2002. We were too sentimental and cried over her that we decided that we can't bear with the departure so might as well not have any attachment to any dog in the first place.

When they left about an hour+ later, he barked for a short while before quietening down.

Rather well behaved; loves to bite things.

Night time, he whined and barked for being left alone.

Fast foward 10 days later, on 31st, SIL's family came to pick him up.

Sad to see him go. First we were not used to having a 'detective' around the house - barking everytime we open the door. Then we're not used to having that 'pit stop' gone. The kids would lie down on the floor and see him.

He left some dog cookies for Santa on Xmas eve. Next morning he's checking out his goodies from Santa

Yummy!

SIL bought us some goodies from Japan. Ooh.........I'm having Japanese stuffs overload (from K's goodies to SIL's goodies)

The kids were given a cute Hello Kitty musical box from 小樽オルゴール堂 each and candies. It's their first musical box and were naturally awed by it.

Given to us were boxes of ホワイト レアチョコレート[ナイアガラ] that were simply irrestible

And these ..................

Yums!

I want this!!

I haven't been a good girl this year. I had been screaming/shouting at my children therefore Santa's not giving me anything. But..........I want this!!!

It's not for me - really - coz' I thought it'd be nice to have this to put the girls' hairclips; accessories and what nots.

Christmas Day

The kids were jumping in glee - from what I heard (mei-mei's simply following her elder sister) and said "Santa came last night and gave alot of things". They ran into the room to rouse me up "mummy mummy Santa gave us things."

Che-che was tickled by the letter Santa mummy wrote to her.

She pointed her fingers at me the night before when we asked her if she remembered to buy carrots and apples for the reindeers "mummy... you never remind me.... we go to 7-11 to buy now." She likes it when there's 'alot alot of things' in the stockings. I had to make sure that those things I bought for her cannot be seen in common places eg. NTUC or Cold Storage shelves.
The kids reading the letter over and over again. Aricia mimicking her sister

Then the kids opened their presents. Aha! This year Aricia can finally rip the wrapping papers apart.

Mom, bro and SIL came by in the afternoon to pass them/us our pressies. Stayed for less than 2 hours and left.
We left home, too, for B's place.

The party was cosy, we got to know some people and chatted. The kids were tired from lack of nap in the daytime and so we left a few hours later.

Mummy's tired too! Good night everyone

Week 5 (21st Dec - )

21st Dec - Monday
SIL brought Leather over in the afternoon. She's going away for a week plus so we're dogsitting for her. She brought log cake for us. Hmm.... can forget about baking a logcake since we have a better tasting cake at home.
I didn't know what to do with the ornaments. So the very next day, 22nd, we embarked on our crafts. I had problem tearing off the label from one plastic container so made do with this microwaveable container.
Did a few more other crafts with che-che.

23rd - Wednesday
Celebration in school for mei-mei, while I brought che-che to PP. I'm so happy coz' I managed to do some more work with her this week. She was pretty upset that she couldn't have any Christmas party and was pretty jealous that mei-mei was going to have more presents than her. "not fair! not fair!" She kept asking for me to have a party at home with her friends. Nope! No intention to do anything this year though I must admit I felt rather uneasy when I 'didn't have anything to do'; I felt rather uneasy too when the house is so quiet. I needed a break. The year end is always filled with activities, tiring for me to single-handedly do every "project".
Mom is not having any celebration this year too coz' she's always tired out (like I do) when she has to bao-gar-liao everything. Anyway, we've been booked weeks before by B's (che-che's classmate) family for a Christmas dinner at their place on Christmas Day. So even if we had wanted any party, it wasn't really possible. Hmm... I have a "treasure box" with all the Christmas goodies.. what shall I do with it?
Photos taken in PP
Kids waiting for daddy. Lil' one kept shouting "where's daddy?? Oh.........daddy.......where are you?" Attracted alot of attention from strangers who found her rather amusing and laughed at her.
24th - Thursday
A day of doing nothing - I mean it's really nothing. I want to bake something, I always see those nice iced cookies and wanna do but so lazy. I've talked about making a logcake for donkey years but haven't got down to doing it. OMG! Remember I talked about doing traditional and snowskin mooncake this year? Nothing's done obviously!! Probably will wait many years later before I get a chance to do it. Haha! Then I thought probably I'll do a sinful chocolate biscotti for the kids (something not so tedious as a cookie cut cookie but not so lazy as a drop cookie) - duh! obviously I'm so LAZY coz' I can only dream and talk about it but nothing's done.

The day before, I bought them a new marker as their previous one were running out of ink. They did some drawing in the morning

In the afternoon, I promised Athena we'd decorate 2 cookies for Santa. Then I was so tired I fell asleep for 3 whole good hours. Day's gone just like that! I promised Aricia that I'll do the foam kit with her, she came to wake me up but I told her I'm really tired. Shucks! What's wrong with me??
Hubby decided to bring the kids out down town at 6+pm. Came back 3 hours later.
Slap chococlates on their cookie
Their cookie in their respective box. Cane= meimei, tree = cheche. Meimei seeing cheche writing, decided to scribble too. Her letter to santa is the blue paper

Greetings

Week 4 in a glance (14th Dec - 20th Dec)

Prior to the start of the school hols, I had asked che-che if she wanted to join the Shichida's holiday program. She didn't want it although I told her it's not academic based but basically some intuitive brainy stuffs. She didn't want citing that she had to be there the whole day. So signed her up for an academic-based in LW.

Being the sole chauffeur, I have to think about my logistics. This week alone, I've been hanging around PP very early in the morning till che-che's dismissed at 12pm. And then off we go to pick mei-mei up from her school. I was leading a very tai-tai life lor.... relax in the mornings by having a nice breakfast either in Ya Kun or KFC; read and play games on my phone. (Thanks to che-che I'm so hooked to the games now.)
I took the opportunity to SHOP, SHOP, SHOP - for Christmas presents and clothes for myself. After slimming down, I am so motivated to shop for nice clothes.. makes shopping fun. Hmm.. dowan to think about the cc bill - I will have to drink rain water to survive.

Wah.....share with you one very romantic talk I overheard. I buay tahan, not that I'm jealous hor.... it was too mushy!
In Cold Storage, I was already freezing cold and squatting to look at something. Then I heard one chinese man speaking in a nice english accent to his companion - a caucasian lady "Wow! You managed to find this. (dunno what the heck it was lah!) You are very good... you are very good in finding things. You are so good......so good........ You are very good in finding things ....so good...... (yah, he was really repeating himself) that's why you found me." WAH..........I almost turned into a statue at that spot siah! It was a man prob in his late 50s and his companion who don't look young at all. 第二春? I should think so.

Thursday -17th
Last Shichida class for the term. I'm dying for a break, I'm dying from a break from everything......I WANNA DUMP EVERYTHING ASIDE AND GO FOR HOLIDAY!!!!! I know I can only shout and nothing will materialize so just let me shout.
Yay! Shichida and Berries term break next week. I can nuah at home. No school for mei-mei too, so no need to leave house.

Friday - 18th
I was hoping to meet the Korean lady I met the day before to get her number. She brought her niece to the same class and only yesterday we talked to one another. Guess she was just trying to confirm something from me. And then we realised that - yes! we met in che-che's school. She's also a PV. I was surprised that she sent her niece over; not her daughter (from another class) for the class.
Did last minute shopping, suppose to plonk my butt in one corner in KFC till 11+ and surf the net. When I was doing my shopping, bumped into SW and her girl S. Great to see her. I thought it was only my girl but children now can choose their own clothes at this age. When we were at their age, we simply went along what our parents chose for us. Times are really different.

After I reached home, the children had their lunch. Train-ed down to Centrepoint. You can never miss a Sesame Street show for sure! Mei-mei declared she likes the red colour Elmo and che-che likes Abby Caddaby.
The next show, Le Cirque De La Ville was absolutely fabulous!
After the show, we walked slowly to Le Meridien for the children to have a snack and waited for hubby to finish his class.
Tired but wonderful day we had today.

OMG! tomorrow's 19th and I haven't been baking for the kids birth-month. Infact getting lazy and lazier.

Saturday - 19th
My children have too many toys. I had to junk some toys, toys that were given to them on their BDs etc.. most of them they've only played once. Rather wasteful to junk away but I didn't have a choice. Next time must be thick-skinned and tell everyone "please no more toys for my children".
I was too tired to do any baking for mei-mei. I wanna do something but .......... mentally tired. I dunno why I'm so tired. I thought I had been nuah-ing for quite a while?

Sunday - 20th
Mei-mei's school having a celebration on 23rd. Thought of doing something for the kids in school. Cookies are way too much job for me. As it is, we have baked the cookies for Santa but haven't got down to decorating the cookies. Wah........what's happening to me? My blogging is taking a long time; I've been so ...
Anyway, I decided to try something new. Milo agar-agar. I like it...the taste is like - Milo. Duh! Of course lah! But to cut that small tray to make into those Christmas cuts, I'll be left with alot of ends to eat. Multiply with the number of children in school - eh... I can't do it. I can always cut with the smaller Christmas cutters but the agar agars will be too small and may have to end up doing more.

In the end, I decided against the idea and opted for something even simpler. Using the cupcake liners I bought last year (I was suppose to do something with it but didn't get down to doing it). I melted the chocolate and mixed corn flakes in it. Sprinkled with Christmas colours quins and topped it with M&Ms. Now that's very simple and fast.
All ready to be brought into school.
