Y1 T4 - Home cooked lunch - Part II

Week 5 : 31st Oct (Tue)

It’s ๐ŸŽƒ Halloween!! No themed bento coz I want to go back to sleep after preparing her lunch.

It’s her requested teriyaki chicken. This is so easy peasy coz it’s convenience food

Cooked Japanese rice today and with Ms Thermie all I need is 15mins. So while cooking rice, I poured hot water to pre-heat the food containers and heat up the thawed teriyaki chicken. No mess!
Just nice new version is in so updated Ms Thermie.

All packed and ready. I need to find something to keep the food even warmer. Time to do some online shopping!

2nd Nov (Thu)

Had some leftover marinated pork from the steamed tofu so decided to cook porridge for her instead. I will just pack mom’s lunch and go over immediately so I don’t waste any time. I needed to drop by Kinokuniya before picking lil’ one up from school.

A trick I learnt from mom is to have the rice soaked the night before so that it’ll cook faster the next day. In this pot are grinded rice, I grinded some Thai and Japanese rice and packed them into a ziploc bag so I can use it whenever I want to cook porridge.

Her “mummy’s egg porridge is nicer than yours” ๐Ÿ˜‚

Always the easiest and I know this will be piping hot when lunch time rolls in. Bon Appetit.

Week 6 : 7th Nov (Tue)

Prepared the ๅ‘ณไป˜ใ‘็Ž‰ๅญ the night before and next morning just did a small batch of basil chicken without the ๐ŸŒถ️ and ๐ŸŒฟ
Lil' one was screaming at home ''I dowan the egg. I only want the chicken.'' Guess what? She loved the egg! Love the marinade. Sometimes this dummy mummy is so proud of herself. Sometimes I nail the cooking; some days I don't. Haha!

Tips : Boiled egg is a good standby option for food prep. Onsen eggs can be kept refrigerated for 1-2 days. Hard boiled eggs can be kept refrigerated for a week

9th Nov (Thu)

Didn't know what to cook for her so chose the lazy way out for self - pack food. Actually it's not really the easy way out. I have to pack for her and mom after my class ends at 11am (but I usually pre-order and pay first, collect at stipulated time), and then go over to her school and wait for her phonecall before I drive in. Sometimes the teacher can dismiss them at 11.30am, or 11.45am or on the dot at 12pm for their lunch. This lifestyle sucks! And I'm suppose to be doing this for another 2 more years?? And poly after? Eeeeee..... I dowan, I old lady by then already I want to do my own things.

14th Nov (Tue)

Sigh.... my girl like going army like that ๐Ÿคฃ carry so many things. She wanted to give her former FT a cake for her birthday thus was carrying two insulated bags

16th Nov (Thu)

Had some leftover rice from last night’s dinner, so took the opportunity to prepare fried rice for today’s packed lunch.

Great! So I can now stay in OTH after class and go for a nice massage. I didn’t have to go over Tampines as mom is in TP.

21st Nov (Tue)
Was informed that she will probably end later than her friends for her paper, so she only has  half hour of lunchtime. Asked her to bring a bread with her instead.

22nd Nov (Wed)

Some leftover + teriyaki chicken. I haven’t been able to get hold of chicken fillet to do her Tori-Q chicken
Hmm….maybe I should consider frying her pork sukiyaki in bulk then portion it for re-heating?

23rd Nov (Thu)

Packed her noodles from OTH

28th Nov (Tue)

Instructed her to go outside for lunch with her friends and will not prepare her lunch.

This sums up the meals for this year this term, till next year I will resume.
