Bought lunch n dinner home. Missing some 🌶️ sour spicy soup, drink first worry later about the stomach pain. I need my Tom yum! I forgot I still have my own not so spicy น้ำพริกเผา , the cooking process that left my kitchen in a mess. 🤣

Now getting sick of the lemongrass chicken from SoPho also, I think the Thai version one I cook is nicer. 😂Guess I know what to cook for self this week.

A quick outing. 

When the big girl needs to pick up her shoes, the lil' one followed COZ "I never go out at all!!"

So silly lor.... even if we kept the social group to 2, I still need to go forward to pay $$ right?      

Been bugging us for fairy lights, LED lights what nots that she saw in Tiktok, as if I 

know what she meant. 

Anyway, she saw this and wanted this. 

Che-che took the most credit for helping to set the lights up for her.

Lil' one woke up at 12+am n walked into my room, asked me "mummy, do I sleep or tidy my things?" She asked me twice coz I didn't understand her.

Then I rmbred asking her to keep her things coz she left her ballet n tuition bag outside the dining area.

Thing is, she plonked to bed at 10.20pm after keeping her bags.

Let's see if she remembers having this conversation with me.

It has happened before. She woke up n asked me "do I do my homework now or sleep?" to my amusement.

She had no idea she had walked n talked to me when lasked her.

Oh yah, did I mention that when she was little. She did sit up and start talking??

Which is more scary? Sleepwalking or sleeptalking?

This afternoon, a caucasian lady with 3 kids (one baby approx 8-11mths) sat about 2 tables away from me. Her baby's cries attracted my attention and I was observing what was happening.

Immediately, I am reminded of my nottie girl when she was that young too.

That baby, like nottie girl, cries when food and drinks is passed around her from left to right to left to right.

Hand stretching out trying to catch hold of it. Then when she's given a bite or a sip, she kept quiet. If take away the food/drink, she'll cry within 3 seconds.

The cycle continues.

Oh man! How did I manage to tolerate my nottie girl?

Helped my lil' one's class for their trip to SAM. This is what she did today. Not bad for someone who declares "I dun like art."

This happens just like it was yesterday. 😂. The time I was seated with a few kids and helping them if they need help. And this is something I always tell my girls when I do PV in school “I’m here to help you and your friends. I’m not helping you alone. So don’t come calling me mummy here mummy there.” 

My super talkative girl just talk to the staff and blurted out “I hate art”. Wah….I had that slap head moment. It’s really hilarious and embarrassing lor! My girl dunno how to angkat people.

Haiz! Doing my most feared subject - Maths!! I was going to kill her today, let's see how she fared for Nanyang Pri paper.

So I do finally realise why she always has problem doing Math. She’s ok with rote-learning but if it’s long essay problem sums, she gets ‘shut off’ with too much reading thus no comprehension. Which has to do with her eyes. 

I’m not sure if she still checks her work / exams haphazardly.

When they were younger (lil' one @ 1y 7d old, didi @ Smths), they were curious abt each other.

They'll look at each other and poke at each other, most times lil' one is the aggressive one 😂. Then they grab anything so it happened that he grabbed her hair on this day and didn't let go. She bawled out really loud and was really sad.

Long story rant:

I've been a YL user since 2015? 2016? I love their oils coz I know I'm using the real stuffs.

BUT YL oils isn't cheap at all, so when I heard of this brand - Revive - that smells exactly the same as YL and cheaper than YL, I just had to try it.

My items came today and seriously I can't tell the difference (except for Courage (YL's Valor) the initial sniff was sharper but after that no difference.

I chose to try Peppermint too coz this was the first bottle a friend gifted me. Introducing me to the world of pure oils. It was this bottle too that my innocent unbiased child, Athena, says she loves this smell better than the others I bought before. So it kindda convinced me that she knows the pure stuffs and the fake pungent peppermint cheap no brand oils we normally buy outside. In today's sniffing experiment, Revive's Peppermint didn't disappoint me. Will apply peppermint later, just nice my headache came back so will see if this will help me.

Sorry ah..... I know some of my friends here are also YL users. I'm just sharing, not implying that Revive is better than YL. And do read up on 2 sides of the story in the internet. I'm only trying the smells, haven't applied on skin yet. Some may not feel comfortable to try a new brand coz too used to YL, so it's up to your discretion.

Everytime after eating at uncle wanton, I must cross the bridge towards Kim Choo. 

Dropped by Kimchoo to get my dumpling (the bestest nonya chang after my mom's). Saw that ondeh and kueh kosui selling at total price of $4.40, a fraction of what one will pay at ahem..ahem.., so why not pick them up as well? Kimchoo's kuehs are equally nice + I'm adding more weight to myself and adding more pennies in my pocket. No reason for me to not buy them. Anyway, this could be the only time I'll indulge in these.

Now that l've stopped keto temp, it's one of my must indulge. And had it like 4x already 😂 in a short span of 2mths? The last time was only last wk? 🤭

Lil’ one’s Term 3 late dismissals

Term 3 started in 3rd July with a horrible schedule. Late dismissals at 5pm four times a week, resulting in her having to start her revision late until 12am - 1am. Why revision started late? Coz as usual after reaching home at 5.25 (latest) she will take her own sweet time to eat her dinner for 1hr plus after her long shower (20-30mins). She’ll start her revision at 8pm!!! 

When Term 3 started on 3rd July I was barely with her when left for a holiday. Only had one week (17th to 21st July) with her before she had another one week break. When school started on 31st July, most days she had her dinner at home. Today, 3rd Aug, as I went back home after my Fight-Do class to do some housework I decided to cook some porridge for her and do a trial run.

No more Hello Kitty tray-table in the car now 🤣 which I had 2 for each girls and they would eat in the car during the journey from school to home in their younger days. Of course that came with another set of problem - feeding another family (the cockroaches)

Turns out she did save some time eating at home and she was able to start her revision slightly earlier. 

Well, I might have to resort back to this lifestyle I guess if it helps to save some time. Better than her sitting in the 15-18mins journey doing nothing.

🍬 - went to school at 9+am after her 2nd jab. If only I had pulled her out from school that day. But overall she was well...only felt sleepy (fever only came in the night)

Feels intimidating lor.... che-che and I are the only females here. 4 other men all lifting weights, puffing away, push up, running. Wah seh! Atmosphere macam like in the army like that and here I am so tired, nuah-ing in one corner looking at cheesecake recipes while che-che cycled to I dunno where already.

Raindrop Cake 水信玄餅

Raindrop cake or mizu shingen mochi was introduced in 2014 altho it goes back to way back. Read this

I can’t remember when or where I first saw it and had it. I believe it was the kinako powder that made me notice this and liked it. I also liked warabi mochi, think it’s has that 像花生 taste. 

Anyway, I was so happy when this was presented to us at the restaurant Mio 未央 brought us to in Dec 22. I was expecting the normal matcha shiratama dango dessert, it’s like I even forgot its existence. 

Che-che decided to try it and liked it, she took lil’ one’s share.

When I saw the dessert, I even commented I’ve been wanting to make this for years but never did 😂. Seven months down the road at shin-Osaka station (taking train to Himeji) che-che chanced upon this. Was surprised that the expiry date is months later, not that it will be kept that long anyway. And isn’t it supposed to be served chilled? 

Well… she declined the offer to buy more at the station. She was trying not to finish them so fast. She was left with this last one. She didn’t get to eat this coz hubby ate it 🤣.  

So I think it’s time I should make this before she flies over for studies. Kindda procrastinated for a few days already and decided I better do it now - on 31st July. 

So many recipes but dunno which one to use. Why did I have to choose a weird portion recipe? 1 cup to 1.5tbsp of agar powder. That’s a lot of powder for so little water. 

I don’t even need to refrigerate the jelly, it hardened in less than 10mins 🤣

Tried the smaller ones, quite tasteless. The recipe called for 1g but I think I can increase to 2-3g for a start.

Left with 4 big ones, served 1 to che-che who feedback it’s not sweet and rather soft. Huh? Well maybe I can try to decrease very little water? Maybe 10-20ml? Will it be too hard then?

Her results are out. A sigh of relief....she did better than usual for her abacus calculation. Normally in class, 10Qs only 1 correct ans. The best performance so far was 3 correct ans. that was the reason y I was hesitant to let her go for exams esp I had to make the hassle of changing their Berries class to accommodate the exams. But salute her "never-say-die" attitude.

Oh yes, that day she came out of the hall n told me "mummy I love exams. I want to go for exams again".

Huh? My faint heart cannot take it lah mei-mei!

Che-che asked me earlier on "mummy, how come aunties n M, A can always go there? How come papa nvr join?" My answer on "没有钱" didn't satisfy her.

So l thought ... " Athena, mummy also hv a club membership." she bugged me to show her my card n when I can bring her. I showed her my 2 stored value cards for SSC - public swimming pool. She burst out laughing.
