Hair thinning

Had a haircut on thursday - 7th aug and asked the hairstylist to help me take a photo of the back of my head when he said I didn't colour my whites properly. I had a shock when I can almost see my scalp, anymore hair loss without any new growth I'll have a bald head in less than 3 years!

Maybe me being on keto before did affect my hair loss? But I've stopped keto for 2 years, how can I still be getting this hair loss? Does age matter?

SOS messaged N about the efficacy of Klorane. According to her it seemed to work but she felt it has a drying effect.

A search on "how to grow more hair as we get older" and AI's generated answers as :

To encourage hair growth as we age, focus on scalp health, proper nutrition, and gentle hair care prac-tices. Scalp massages can

boost circulation, while a balanced diet rich in vitamins, protein, and iron supports hair growth. Consider using minoxidil or consulting a doctor about prescription treatments like finasteride, especially if experiencing hair loss.

Elaboration:

1. Scalp Health and Circulation:

Scalp Massage:

Gently massaging your scalp can improve blood flow to hair follicles, delivering essential nutrients and promoting growth.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals:

Minimize exposure to harsh chemicals found in some hair products, which can damage the scalp and hair.

Essential Oils:

Certain essential oils, like rosemary and lavender, when diluted with a carrier oil, may improve scalp health and hair growth, though more research is needed.

2. Nutrition and Supplements:

Balanced Diet:

Ensure your diet is rich in vitamins (A, B, C, D, E), protein, iron, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids, which are vital for healthy hair.

Protein:

Hair is primarily made of protein, so consuming enough protein is crucial. Good sources include eggs, lean meat, and beans.

Biotin:

While biotin supplements are popular, deficiencies are rare. Consult a doctor before taking supplements, as excessive biotin can interfere with lab tests. "

Omega-3 Fatty Acids:

Found in fatty fish like salmon, these may promote hair growth.

 3. Gentle Hair Care:

Minimize Heat Styling:

Reduce the use of heat styling tools, as they can damage hair and lead to breakage.

Avoid Tight Hairstyles:

Tight hairstyles can pull on hair follicles, potentially causing damage and breakage.

Don't Overwash:

Washing hair too frequently can strip it of its natural oils, leading to dryness and damage.

Adjust your washing frequency based on your hair type and needs.

4. Medical Treatments:

  • Minoxidil: This over-the-counter topical treatment can help reduce hair loss and stimulate hair growth.
  • Finasteride: This prescription medication may be effective for male-pattern baldness. •
  • Consult a Doctor: If you're experiencing significant hair loss, consult a dermatologist or doctor. They can diagnose the cause and recommend appropriate treatments.
  • Consider Supplements: If you're concerned about nutrient deficiencies, talk to your doctor about appropriate supplements.

I recall I have Biotin in the supplements cabinet. I shall start taking them religiously

While digging for handwash, I saw my Aveda invati samples and remembered I have the big bottle too.

Realised I have these at home. Not sure what the paddle brush is for, if it's for the scalp massage or ??

Will massaging scalp help?

Then came across this video

My heart sank. Could it be me hitting 50 this year so ๅ‡†? or was it due to the fact that I started washing my hair daily for the last 3 years (I used to wash on alternate days and my exercise days)
