SQ Rocks!

There’s no reason not to travel with SQ apart from the expensive ticket. But when we do, on most of our holidays, we always get pampered by the crew. Initially when the man travels so often he was recognised so the crew will come up to introduce themselves to us. Then after that no more, maybe too many PPS (😂) but still passengers will still be greeted somehow somewhere by at least one crew. I don’t die hard expect 13 crew to come and say hello to me lah! But I don’t expect a cellophane treatment either. Still, the crew are often so smiling unlike other airlines where they give you that unapproachable-don’t-kacau-me look. 

So we do get pampered by the crew, they sneaked a bottle of mineral water for us when they introduce themselves (not all the time but I’m sure the crew did it coz there’s enough to spare from business or first class) Often checking in on us, I’m sure they have gone many rounds of water and perhaps snacks (long flights) in the plane but your truly is snoring away with her classical music. So ehh…let me rephrase that in my wakeful hours I’m always pampered by the crew. Haha! Really goes to show how much I sleep onboard. 

SQ 24 - 14th May (Tuesday) 

Was waiting to use the toilet when I saw the CS sitting behind and curiously asked who the IA was. Yah! I saw an IA onboard for the first time as I boarded the aircraft (he was standing at D2R) and he don’t look familiar at all. Note, more or less most IAs would be around my time or slightly more senior than me. The female IFM looks young and probably my junior. 

Anyway, CS then said I look familiar and we did a flight together. What?! I didn’t / haven’t introduced myself as ex-crew. Said when he saw me onboard (happen to be seated on the port side where he’s working) he knew I was ex-crew. Wah…compliment siah! So fat, look very different, so untidy looking still got the EX-CREW stamped across my forehead. 我真的是判若两人啦！And how did he remember me? Did he go through the manifest? We fly with so many crew, how to remember those who were never in the same team unless one had left such a deep impression on them. Either we were too good to the crew or we were bitches on board for them to remember us 😂. He’s my junior, so we could have flown together when we were both FS/FSS or LSS/FS. Honestly, one thing I regretted throwing away after I resigned was my notebooks! Had all the crew names, my work position, pax load information all inside. I’m sure that would bring back lovely memories to me. 

What I normally do onboard

Service wise I can’t complain as long as I get my food. I don’t really ask for any drinks except orange juice (rare occasion I’ll ask for coke) and water. Lots of water. And I rarely finish my meal coz didn’t want to feel too full. 

During my walks when I’m awake and need to stretch at the toilet area coz that’s where I can go. Forward zone is Business Class where poor people like me cannot afford. Will talk to crew, they offer lots of drinks but all I needed was just water and refill my thermos flask. No kopi no teh.

My thinking if I’m polite and talk to crew they are pretty approachable. They stop what they’re doing and just chat with you while I’m tiptoeing stretching. They give you that attention for that few minutes. Other airlines? If I ask for a drink they just serve you and then next minute they talk to each other and I simply vanished into the air in their sight. So I become a lonesome old woman stretching at D5L or D5R. Ahem..I can name the airlines can I? Rated in the world also for cabin crew —> Emirates. So say on Emirates, Czech, UA, 2 chinese airlines, Starlux etc.. Ok, I’ll just talk about Emirates since it was in the rank and the other airlines hardly made into the list. How can Emirates be ranked first? Their crew are so unapproachable, so rude, no customer service. So there has been talks and people (non Singaporeans mostly) criticising that both Emirates and Qatar pay money to be in the ranking. SQ is really the top, many people commented if you’ve never sat on SQ you wouldn’t know and can’t compare. 

SQ 23 - 28th May (Tuesday)

The LSS really did what she had to do and didn’t listen to me 😂. It was the first time I ordered champagne and asked for a little to try. “Just a little” and showed her how much I wanted but she didn’t listen to me thinking I cannot pour so little and continued pouring. Whole time I was telling her “stop stop stop”. Paiseh so had to finish it. Wahh…felt so hot so even I had my eyes closed I was fanning myself with the safety leaflet. 

Never ever drink again! 

Flight departed didn’t walk around that much this sector coz I slept and slept, and opened window shades to see outside. And I try not to walk too much after SQ321 incident. 

Snacks - crew offered then can’t rmbr when I needed to go toilet, che-che asked me to get for her the popcorn. I commented che-che likes it and asked for just 2, they gave me so much - 4 packs. I jokingly told them to wait give me the whole airlarda I’ll take my bag here. 

Next minute, they came by to me with these 28 packs in a SQ bag. People look at me lor…. My goodness. Ok coming back to SIN so they can clear as many as they want but still .. then I saw a bear in the bag and ..wait! 2 business class amenity kit as well. Wah!
