10 more days

10 more sleeps to our Jipun trip, place where 70% of my FB friends are at now 😂. 

Unfortunately coz we’re not driving and going the common places, I will be hearing Singlish, I will be hearing Singaporeans speaking so haolian-ly loud in public. 

Need to do my packing tomorrow.

Bai-kah’s rubbish talk

Spent only 3+ hrs out with mom and I was so tired! The walking around made me my legs so so tired. 

Brought mom to RainbowCare as I wanted to get her a shower chair but turned out the day before SIL bought one online for her. But since I wanted to head down, I’ll go down to check out if there are other things that she might need. Since it’s the elderly item I’m getting her, I had to be careful and needed her to be present to test it out herself even though I am a great fan of 淘宝. 

Saw a wheelchair that looks like a trolley 😂 and wanted to get that for her to put in her home. So when she comes by to my house, I can bring it with me and let her use it when we bring her out. Skinny lil’ one even struggled to push her around 😂.

My boot cannot put in the normal sturdy huge wheelchair. I tried once in my car (not hubby’s car which is even smaller) and the back seat passengers had to tilt their seat back forward, every bump we drive pass the back will move. It was a tight squeeze standing it upright. Hit a plastic panel in the car 😱. It will only fit my car if I brought both back seats down and lay the wheelchair flat, if I’m alone with her can lah! But if with the family then how? But she didn’t want for a few reasons. 

Then as we were leaving, I saw this and bought it. I hope it can give me some support 

Went to PLQ for lunch. Two paikah people struggling to walk in the mall. It only dawned upon me when mom talked about malls with wheelchair rental. I checked but PLQ stopped the services. Struggling to walk, it only made both my legs more tired. Was hoping to get some exercise this week but looks like I gotta skip. 

Mom couldn’t walk anymore, just barely a few steps from the dining table; not even out of Hanis and she asked to sit down. I want to sit down too but I had things to get from Popular, Challenger and NTUC. I too, had to stand to rest my pain left ankle and my tired right leg once in a while. Torlong torlong my ankle recover faster for the trip. 

Today is an example on why some days I can’t cook dinner. It’ll be late by the time I reach home, I looked forward to a nice cold shower and wouldn’t want to tire myself further by cooking a 3+1 dinner. I was tired from walking in PLQ that I didn’t have the energy to pack dinner from there. Instead drove back home and stopped by at the small mall opposite us and packed dinner. Popped the economical rice’s dishes in the oven to keep warm, it’ll save my trouble to climb up and down the organ stool to get access to our “high” and mighty microwave oven. 

So difficult to wear it. It didn’t help me, spent $30 to only make my ankle more painful the next morning (11th)

Shucks!

Did I strain my left leg that now my left ankle is swollen and pain? Limping away as I walk and can’t seem to walk anymore after lunch, so sat at one place while hubby and the girls went over to Tampines1 to pack their dinner and donuts for the next few days snack. Haha! I think now I can use the walking stick now, the one which I bought meant for hubby’s use (if he wants to) for our upcoming trip. 

I suspected that on Wednesday when I went to the gym, I put too much pressure on my left leg so as not to strain on my right knee. I tried running a while but stopped when I started to feel pain in my right knee. When I went on the descent bike, I used my left leg’s strength to propel forward so that my right leg will go faster to the front so won’t need to use my right leg to pedal. Ahh…if you know what I’m trying to say. 

It’s a huge mistake I made, now I’m suffering in pain 🤣. I need to get myself recover faster as we need to do a lot of walking in Japan. 

Cold compress or hot compress? 😭 Rub with Panaway? Rub with koyok? 

Ration no more

Finally took this bottle out to drink. 

Bought this in my last trip in July, we have 2 mango honey and 1 grape honey left. 

Although I love yuzu, but now I prefer the thick thick glass bottled kind where I can eat the yuzu peels. 

Not sure if Sugi will have any promotion before my trip. If there is, will let the family buy what they want or maybe the girls will prefer to reserve the luggage space for snacks instead 😜.

My wish

My wish is to be able to travel. 

I wish to cover more places in Japan, I wish to cover onsens in places where I can only drive to, I wish to cover more castles though I will have no idea and remember who the feudal lords are, I wish to cover more significant shrines, I wish to cover more unique tori gates. 

So far these are the very little prefectures I’ve been to so far. Not a lot as you can see. Coming trip I will add more new ones to the list. 

Not forgetting too, I’ve been missing Europe in a certain way too. I miss Christmas markets tho it means I have to wrap myself up like bak-chang. I miss Germany, I miss Switzerland, I miss the boring old London and the incomprehensible Scotland, I miss Netherlands, I miss Greece, I miss Austria, I miss Czech Republic.  

Somehow I miss France and Italy for the food but with the pickpockets there, makes me worried to travel there. 

I miss the museums, I miss the old broken columns, I miss all the historical places which I barely know their history. 

I want to go some NPs in US and Canada, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, South America, go on a cruise to Antartica 🐧, explore some Eastern Europe countries which I haven’t been to yet. 

So many but ….. I can only wish and dream coz lao-niang have no money 😭. Can only watch travel videos. 

Ration

Had to ration the last 2 cans of this. Yet I can’t finish this small can too quickly coz I wouldn’t want to fall sick at this time, not when our holiday is in less than 3wks time. 

Do I miss US when I’m eating this? In a way yes. 2021-2022 is considered long and we’ve been covering the nearby countries for the 3 years (Japan - 2022, Taiwan - 2023 and now back to Japan - 2024) 

I miss our driving trips, I miss the NPs. Travelling only at the end of the year pose a challenge for us all the time. SNOW! So hopefully we will get a chance to go on more US road trips during other season. 

To the gym

Haven’t been exercising for 3 Thursdays. Been wanting to find a day or two during weekday to hit the gym or swim but was busy with housework and planning itineraries and tidying places and and and …that whenever I had a chance to rest, I would REST. No energy of any sort to move my legs at all. 

Am about to finish the itinerary planning and needing a break aka distraction from it, dragged lazy lil’ one with my to the gym.

Can’t rmbr when was the last time I played this. Must be years ago since I hardly use the gym. The video stopped at 24.28mins mark 🤣. 

I play this while on threadmill so that I won’t feel the distance, before I know it I’d have walked / jogged (last time before the right knee problem) an hour on the threadmill. 

Tried jogging on threadmill. Wah…really cannot. I tried cycling but was using more strength on my left leg to propel the right leg to move, still not too bad. But I reckon, if I were to do this all the time I’ll have both knees with problem in due time 😂. Also played another Garmin cycling video when I was on the elevation bike, but couldn’t continue coz lil’ one was tired (she barely exercised!!) and stood there waiting for me. 

A trip back to MP

Kinda miss Uncle wanton so brought lil’ one over. This time we popped by his son’s place, school hols so parking won’t be a big problem around his place. Tummy is happy! 

Actually I do miss the laksa and rojak at Roxy. Haiyah….should have gone there to eat instead so can satisfy my tummy in one stop. 

Since I was in the vicinity, decided to drop by 銀閣寺大西, a place I’ve always wanted to go to reccee. 

Oh! Passed by KopiKhoo accidentally with customers. Not a bad idea to do something out from your kitchen. What will I do if I'm able to dig a hole in my kitchen to a walkway?

Bought more rubbish things that I wasn't there for. Hee! Going to try this mapo tofu to see if it's nice. I was also craving for the zenzai mochi and black sesame. If only Meidi-ya can carry more authentic japanese products in their supermarket. 

Dropped by Project Acai coz I had been craving for this since last week or was it last last week? Bought one for che-che as well.

For some reason, I'm craving for Korean BBQ, bibimbap, even instant noodles. So tempted to cook army stew, I've got my 케토고추장. But somehow my sensitive stomach can't agree with all the 🌶️. Think

Spent an enjoyable yet tiring morning with the girls @ Sungei Buloh

After feeding the mosquitoes, we had to refuel our body.

Lil’ one was so happy when che-che bought her socks, scrunchie n tidbit.

Meanwhile I will wait.... she says she needs to do some video editing on GoPro and her stars pics on her phone. She saw a lot of constellations... Wah seh! I’m so jealous!

She complained the rooster woke her up at 5.30am when they only need to meet at 7.30am which I found it strange.. the loudest alarm clock can’t wake her at home but she woke at the rooster’s morning call

while her friends still snoring away. Tho place is dusty but air is fresh; every night can hv the whole sky infront of her, best of all no need to study. No wonder she don’t miss home; don’t miss us. (Mummy heart pain, I missed her but she didn’t)

Reached home close to 1am. I’ve just finished hand washing some items (items all go thru 2 rounds of hand washing except for socks - 3 rounds. Her white socks was

so based on how hard I scrub after 3x, so I did the same for the rests of coloured socks) some laundry are in the machine doing it’s first round at 90deg cel. Will do a second round later. Think will hang up the laundry tmrw morning 了。too tired.

My “smart” girl wore the shoes lil’ one bought for her on Sat despite us telling her not to. Altho’ I will hand wash shoes n slippers but still so silly to wear a new pair to a dusty place, right?

I was expecting some mess in her luggage but she packed everything so neatly into the roll-up storage bags. So different from secondary school days where she stuffed them messily into the storage bags.

At this time, I still haven’t showered. Taking a short break from sitting on the stool scrubbing stuffs, still need to unpack the rest of the nitty gritty items. Some needs replenishment before I pack into a bigger toiletry bag, some items goes back into the proper “excursion box” at home, some items .... heck lah! I just throw back into the luggage since I need them again.

First time I ever had a backache n butt pain from sitting on the stool for that long. First time I used so much Thieves laundry wash, baking soda + lemon essential oil.

Realised too I haven’t taken my 3rd dosage cough syrup which causes drowsiness and knocks me out. That’s why didn’t dare to take it after dinner.

The girls are sleeping together in my room, I’ve been sleeping in lil’ one’s room since last week.

I have no idea what time I’ll sleep later, I hope I sleep coz last night I didn’t sleep well as I was coughing quite badly, which was strange.. maybe I forgot to take the last dosage?? Lil’ one was so troublesome for the past 2 days, kept complaining hungry n then made me so busy. still I have to be up at 7am this morning. Sigh.... will lunch out with the girls tmrw and pack dinner home.

She volunteered she will do some photo-taking. Not sure how much of a photography buff is she. Should I standby spare battery?

Her job now is to learn how to use those chim-mer

I've always dreamt of doing this :-Freshly baked breakfast. You know how I envy Martha Stewart or Nigella can cook for a whole party and yet still look so pretty.

I can't! Not a morning person to begin with (which explains this late breakfast), grouchy 😕messy-hair woman (siao charbo) just walks into the kitchen and.......三分熟度 only lan! U think I’ll do it again

Nothing much to do, except handwash socks n undergarments coz l brought little. Dry very quickly too coz I put on top of the radiator, within minutes it's all dry. So I can download PPTV and watch n watch.

The moment I touch down SIN, I become Ah-sum.

Doc advised against yanking off, I was so mentally prepared to bite into either girl's arm when doc do that. Says it'll aggravate the clot (ehh...coz since morning mah!).

Just clean n dress wound. Wrap until look so big.

Now another problem. I'm travelling on Tuesday to winter country. How the heck am i going to put my bloody toe in my sports shoes??
