Yesterday che-che and I were having a convo about the current SSO concert master and then somehow it lead to her asking me “what does Arena Spectacular mean?” I have no idea I thought it was new and more dramatic props or whatever for the Les Mis that I had booked in October (took advantage of the 20% early bird). Went to check and OMG! It’s just the casts standing there one stage with a standing microphone and sing just like in their 10th and 25th Anniversary performance. But I’m sure it will be the same hair raising and tearing performance. I know the lyrics to every song, can I go on the stage and sing? 🤭

Those were the days… musicals at Kallang Theatre. Poor girl had to take bus to and fro. I went with my friend, C. He was a musical fan as well so we watched three musicals in SIN together. 

The second time watching in SIN I brought the girls was on 4th June 2016. Our seats were far off and high 😂. Their second musical and I wasn’t willing to pay so much per ticket especially when lil’ one dozed off on my lap in 2011 during Lion King musical.

Booked tickets for this today.(15% early bird instead of 20% coz I didn’t sign up for the waitlist and didn’t get the code.🥹) Nevertheless this is yippee news. One more musical to add to my list. This musical has a different kind of theatrical. Think it’s something like Six? Rock pop kind of music. I didn’t go to Six eventually coz had to stay at home, so passed my ticket to che-che’s friend B. 

Changing out side cabinet

25th Nov (Tue) 

Had to change out my room side table coz I barely have space to put anything now. After picking lil’ one from school we went over to Ikea, to grab the items.

At the loading area, all five but two cars (including mine) have MANpower. My items are HEAVY especially the room side table. So tempted to act the damsel in distress but … me no single lady. Me is a married fatty lady, nobody will pay attention to me. 🤣 Had to carry and then pause to rest, carry and pause and put it at the backseat. As for the heavier cabinet, I tilt and “roll” the rectangular box into the backseat floor.

Back at home, I went back to grab this trolley and did the same to get the box down from the car. So tired and left hand numb. Left it by the door until I had the mood to do the installation.

Lao niang procrastinated long enough. Need to fix this up.

I always say those people who have super long nails / have the time to get their nails nicely done at salon do not have to do housework. Coz I have a 奴隶命 I don’t bother wasting my money on going salons, anyway I have my Masters in NailPainting from SQ. 😉 

In this pic : My nails are not long but IT IS A HINDRANCE to fixing this cabinet up. 

Coz ah-nia is not an Ikea staff rushing deliveries and installations, I took my own sweet time fixing up this cabinet. Put on music and took more than 45 mins to fix this. 

Took a break before fixing the top and base to remove nail polish and cut my nails. Taking my own sweet time installing, I think I’m enjoying the music more as I’m doing this.

Checked the bulky disposal schedule. The next one is on 13th and 14th Dec which means I should have done my homework better 😏. 没办法。都已经买了。

Left it in the yard temporarily until 14th. Che-che’s friends will be at our house on 13th so it’ll be inconvenient for me to do anything that day. On the 14th, will just remove items in the old outdoor storage and quickly roll it to the fire access area for disposal #thankgoodnessihavethisspaceinyard#

Wah…. first time it’s decorated so nice. Lil’ one is sore that they didn’t do this for her birthday celebration.

Came back with small cake. Someone gave her

When I made the transfer the night before her birthday. I notice the time just as I was editing this photo. Should I transfer her $25.11 at either 11.25am/pm tomorrow?

25th Nov (Tue) HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! 🎂 

She WFH today but I was busy as had to chauffeur lil’ one back to school and then drop by Ikea. Initially wanted to get her a small slice of Daim cake from there but they didn’t have any.

But she didn’t want us to sing birthday song. 😂. So it’s really a quiet day for her

26th Nov (Wed)

She took her birthday leave (last year she took the same date as well) and she didn’t spend with us. Went out with HL. 

We collected the cake for her, one day late coz that’s the earliest day we can collect 😌. Hubby was suppose to collect for his birthday as it’s from the bank, but a few times he did let her choose her birthday cake, that’s coz they share the same birthday month. That was when she wasn’t so fussy over cakes also. 

We waited and waited for her… daddy was so excited to sing for her, his big baby. 

“Happy Birthday to my big baby”. Had to photoshop the people out from lighted candle cake pic coz everyone didn’t look good 😂. 

27th Nov (Thu)

Came home with another cake 🤣, must be from colleague. Tiramisu cake from Swee Heng

This Kris+ account of mine always see me earning miles,  not significantly alot coz I don’t spend that much money. 

I noticed I have 2810 miles expiring in December and haven't and not decided to use it for any flights, thus decided to transfer it over to make my purchases. $28.10 will be gone quite fast I think, and there's no restrictions that I had to utilise this amount by December.

Today, wanted to get mushroom puff and saw that Polar accepts Kris+. Paid with that. I think the remaining amount I can buy another 5 nonya chang?? 

Minor accident

We had a minor accident near Novena church at 1.26pm. Apparently this ambulance without the blaring siren was going to cut into our lane at unsafe distance (and when the car behind us is following close to us, can’t jam brake) when the man horned to warn him a few times of our presence. Is it our car is too small that he can’t see us? The driver still continued to cut into our lane, we were on the extreme left lane so there’s no way we can cut into another lane safely. Next minute “BANG!!” and the guy still continued driving, did he intend to do a hit and run? Hubby horned at him and then he stopped the vehicle next to the church. Yah! To receive blessings?

Driver apologized, saying he didn’t see us. Honestly, this gives him no excuse to not pay attention to the traffic while driving especially when he is bringing patients to the hospital. I’m not lashing out at him but don’t you agree that he should always remain alert. If cannot see can hear right?  He claimed he’s rushing an old man to TTSH A&E. I mean what happened if it was a serious accident? We had a scratch to the right side mirror and it was folded in, rather minor actually. He wanted to open the back to proof to us that he has a patient but we waved him off and asked him to go coz …… for what reason I dunno but two of us automatically signalled for him to go. The soft side of us? Perhaps we didn’t want to indirectly cause an old man to get heart attack inside and die with that loud bang. 

Question is - should we have just let the ambulance go? What is right procedure? Should he have horn to ask driver to stop? There wasn’t any blaring siren so or probably wasn’t a serious case, still at that time we waved for him to go first. Then he mentioned something about going to the A&E to find him. We didn’t lah!

Back in the carpark, short journey from accident place. He looked at the thing again and said .. “I think it’s just minor scratch we forget it.” Honestly I was really relieved he had the same thought coz I wanted to suggest to him to forget it (but risked not knowing what response he’ll have. He could have scolded me that re-painting it cost money I don’t work so I don’t feel heartpain etc..) I mentioned to him 我们好人做好事吧！把坏的划走。I hope he understood my point.

Told her I can get more nicer pics when I’m alone. 

Infact for that Korea holiday with her I was able to get some photos of her without two other people rushing me. And she obliged to be a model, tho I tell you none of my family members are natural infront of camera. pfft! 

Since just the two of us and surprisingly Ikea is not crowded at all so spent around 15mins taking pics.

Now these make good Christmas cards, right? So when anyone needs a pic for their holiday cards, please drop by Ikea. 

The last bits of Year 3

22nd Nov (Sat)

Getting ready for her presentation. Printed out her thick materials. 

Wah.... she's writing a movie script? Will the audience be bored?

25th Nov (Tue)

Sent her back to school for the last time during school hours. When was the last time I drove her to school? I think I will miss those days even though I had been complaining about the unpaid unappreciative response from her.

 

at 8.59am. Into the school for the last time as a full fledge ITE student. Not sure what her next academic path will be like ..

My last routine

For 2.5 years I’ve made this school run. Sometimes the man will help to drop her off in school while I sleep in a little later after waking up to pack her lunch for school. 

Looking back at the lunches I packed for her on some days where she has to eat lunch in school.  A few consolidated lunches link :

For the first 3 terms in Year 1, she eats in school. On some Thursdays I’d pack for her and then wait outside school for her call and then drive in to pass it to her.

On days when I don’t feel like going home / plan not to go back home my routine or just had errands to run / or when she has a short day and it makes no sense for me to head home so I chose to stay out. I'd drive to this nearest mall. I've stopped hanging out in PP after she left secondary school and now I'll stopped hanging out in EP.  

Then there are days when she ends school late that I had to bring her dinner to the car (which means I had to finish cooking dinner earlier and then bring her portion out to let her eat on the journey home). Every minute is precious. 

I never had the habit of eating breakfast unless I'm meeting friends or on days like this. My favourite place? KFC. And I love to hide in this section here where it is colder and quieter, until some mad man will make his walks and it's quite scary actually coz I'm usually alone in this section.

I thought someone told me they will end at 11am, I gave some allowance and reached her school 24mins past the hour. Took some pics of where I’d usually wait for her, the last school run (maybe). Can’t believe that routine idling by the roadside 4 days a week is over. 3 years has passed just like that!

What I do in the car?

a) housekeeping phone, checking emails

b) edit my blog and never get them published

c) pluck eyebrow 🤣

d) squeeze blackheads 🤣

e) power nap for 10mins or maybe less, it’s rather uncomfortable in the car

f) jot down plans for holiday itineraries

I don’t fold plastic bags in the car now, I’ve promoted myself I don’t so ah-soh things in the car now.

She finally called (I was so hot in the car! I didn’t bring my portable fan!) and got into the car at 12.17pm. Couldn't take a pic of her standing there waiting for me, got a weird angled video of the car dashboard and her though. 

Last pic of her. No need for school uniform for her class. Presentation done, all relieved. Looking forward to  graduation ceremony in February. 

What’s her next journey? Hmmm……

Wanted to go again this year but …. I can only daydream. 

It’s all snow again in Murodo. It has more ❄️ white flurry months than ☀️ 🍂 months.

Only 5 days left to the closing season 🥲 

This year, on 27th October, Tateyama gets its first snow more than one week earlier than last year.

I want to go back TY again. I want to see the alps in its full majestic display. Cannot afford to fly to see Swiss alps so I fly to Japan 😂

Wan Yang closed

Saw in the news that Wan Yang has closed. What?!

Parkway outlet is always packed. I don’t make appts for massage, usually do so when I happen to be there for errands and would pop by if I had some time to spare if they could slot me in. The next one that I go is OTH, but I don’t deliberately leave the house just to do massage so only there on Thursdays. But majority of the Thursdays I either need to quickly pack mom’s lunch then go over OR pack Aricia lunch (when she was in Y1)

Muahaha! The last time I went was a year + ago! 

I guess the reason why the sudden  closure aka bankruptcy (?) Coz of customers like me who sign up and then don’t go regularly 🤭 and didn’t sign on new packages to keep their income afloat. 

I’m left with 10 sessions which I can easily finish in 5 trips. Sigh….. will I help to +1 more victim to CASE?

I think I should unfollow some Instagram accounts 😅🥲

This keeps popping up food. And I can really taste the food. I miss Joyfull. Can I just make a 7 day trip to Japan?  😂
