"I can do it k...." - 2nd round

Took a week break of gorging down meats and now I’m back into action. I must admit that when I abstain from meaty produce I felt good. I think I did lose weight coz my bermudas were slightly loose. 😉

Week 01

14th Apr (Mon)

Lunch is fried noodles from a non-vegetarian stall. Gimme fried egg anytime

Dinner - Dr Oetker’s Pizza quattro formaggi. Which is basically 4 cheese pizza. Was hungry after that that I snacked on bread in the night 😂.

15th Apr (Tue)

Lunch - mushroom chee cheong fan

Dinner - stole some enoki mushroom n eggplant from the girls’ mala

Ate che-che’s leftover carrot cake just coz I didn’t want to keep it in the fridge

Dried scallion noodles from home and added braised mushroom

16th Apr (Wed)

Lunch - nasi lemak from vegetarian stall

Delicious curry puff. They’re much more generous in their fillings compared to OCK

Dinner - my fav kueh chap

And some vegetables. Dunno why hubby packed some vegetables for me 😂, the kueh chap is filling enough. I’ll try to finish it since he has the kind thoughts. Needless to say I was in a food coma after that.

17th Apr (Thu)

Lunch : From vegetarian stall

Dinner - the same cheesy pizza again. I want to throw in some button mushrooms but just so lazy to open up the can and deal with leftover after that.

18th Apr (Fri) - Good Friday

I’m just so so amazed with the plethora selection of vegetarian food. But ….. honestly for me to go 100% vegetarian is quite impossible.

Lunch : Bak Chor Mee from vegetarian stall

The girls wanted to go Chinatown so we had our dinner at a Chinese restaurant. I ate the fried rice and vermicelli without touching the meat

Ordered BBQ enoki mushroom n garlic eggplant. So yummy but too much garlic that a vampire will stay clear from me. *huhh huhh 💨 check my breath*

19th Apr (Sat)

Lunch : Ipoh hor fun from vegetarian stall

Yummy vegetable fritters from vegetarian stall

Dinner was invited to bro’s place. He wanted to try vegetable BBQ. I was careful not to touch any meat, so had vegetables and garlic fried rice.

Bought this seasoning and tried this. Not too bad but I feel should add a little chilli powder.

Came home and was hungry so ate the remaining 3/4 vegetarian curry puff that lil’ one had taken a bite from

20th Apr (Sun)

Lunch was 2 curry puffs. I totally forgot I left one curry puff in the oven to heat it up (which explains the charred curry puff. I only ate the fillings for the charred puff.)

Still quite hungry so ate this vegetarian rice dumpling. I’m beginning to miss my Kim Choo

Dinner was shin ramyun with egg. Forgot to take a pic of the food.

Week 02

21st Apr (Mon)

Vegetarian noodles

Shin ramyun for dinner again. Suddenly craving for spicy food

22nd Apr (Tue)

Carrot cake for lunch

Cooked dinner so hubby and I shared this plate of broccoli and mushroom fried with the vegetarian oyster sauce

Add some furikake and that’s a meal settled for me. Really, I’m not that fussy with food. I’ll be happy as long as I have some thing to put in my stomach and I don’t get any gastric problem.

Trying to finish the other half

23rd April (Wed)

Vegetarian bee hoon for lunch from OTH. I had this last Thursday after Fight-Do, am I going to eat this again tomorrow? 🤣. Maybe I should grab lontong tomorrow.

Was famished that I asked hubby to buy 2 fried spring rolls from opposite when he went for a dental appointment. Used too much energy today from clearing loose items on the bomb shelter floor as well as a part of the existing shelf for shelf installation on Friday.

24th Apr (Thu)

Lontong for lunch. Not bad not bad, next time I shall try another Malay stall. Second time I’m having lunch with my Fight-Do friends.

Dinner was x2 kakiage burger

25th Apr (Fri)

Dinner - vegetarian Ipoh hor fun

26th Apr (Sat)

Vegetarian Cha Siew noodle for lunch

Che-che wanted to eat roti prata near her office so I joined her while the two typical Chinese people went to find Chinese food. Haven’t had teh tarik for many many years. Bleh! Too sweet!

I was greedy and ordered 3 pratas. Coz usually I’d still be less than full eating just 2 pratas. 3 pratas proved too filling. So maybe 2.5 pratas next time 🤣. Che-che likes this place coz of the sambal. It’s not bad but tad too spicy for me.

27th Apr (Sun)

Lunch

Was so so tired that my half hour nap became 3hrs. Hubby saw me awake and started preparing my/our dinner. So sweet right? Vegetarian bee tai mak prepared ❤️ by hubby

I can’t even remember what I had on Friday for lunch. Haiyah! so difficult to keep track. Not going to log down the next cycle which is for mom’s surgery (this should be for bro’s safe operation) and another one more when hubby returns from his May trip. And ….now he tells me he’s going on another trip in July. In total I need another 3 more cycles. 🤣 lil’ one laughed at me and told me I can go on vegetarian forever.

Japanese snacks

Most of the Japanese snacks are bought during our December’s trip. Trying to blog them as we open up the snack/s. Not sure when I’ll stop putting them on draft.

Trying to record them in so that I don’t lose any photos, and do a review. I may miss some snack review postings coz Big Mouse do finish them quite fast sometimes.

25th Nov 24

Except for this, as I was scrolling my photo albums and realised I forgot to post this in before. This is the only snack, I think, that is purchased before our last Dec trip. Probably bought this in our yearly pilgrimage trip to FUK July 24?

Not bad. Maybe it’s a biased review coz I love chocolates

17th Jan

Raisin biscuit bought in Kamakura. I was suppose to eat this while I was still in Japan but coz we came back with so many snacks and fruits, I had to eat those that can’t keep long.

Kamakura Ogawaken's Raisin Witch is supposedly quite famous, so I’m lucky I stumble upon this shop (Ofuna Lumine Wing Store) at the station. We weren’t suppose to be there, we were suppose to head back to Tokyo once we alighted from the monorail but …. Decided to walk around for an hour.

Taste test. If this or the one I love from FUK win.

Coffee flavour

*Drum roll* this has a more subtle taste or almost none alcohol (?) taste so some people might prefer this. The brand that I always love seems to have a more sharper and sweeter taste. I still prefer my old time favourite. Soon! Soon! Soon! I’ll get to taste it again, che-che will get it for me.

25th Jan

This cookie is made in Niigata and nope we didn’t go there but saw this in a souvenir shop. So buy lor!

Not bad, tastes like shiroi koibito

29th Jan

Not a snack but ramen. Only che-che ate this. I didn’t get to try this, nobody did 🤣. Will ask her if she wants me to buy this.

Ate this on 17th Feb. It’s from Osaka. Che-che loves 串カツ (kushikatsu) from Osaka. Our Dec trip with 5N in Osaka she made me eat with her 3x just the two of us, and one more with the family. Hubby and lil’ one didn’t really like fried stuffs so.

She didn’t want us to finish this box of crackers. She ate 7, I ate 1 coz I was the one who paid for this. Correction, I paid for almost all her snacks and ramen purchases.

27th Feb

Takoyaki calbee from where else. Slight umami taste to it

Deleting pics in phone and came across these pictures.

Saw this in NGO train station. We didn’t know her fav cracker is from NGO. Definitely cheaper here but we couldn’t buy a lot coz by the time we got to NGO (only 8th day of holiday), the huge luggage was messily filled with snacks and filled up with even more snacks from the shop in the castle.

Did we buy this? Only bought one pack just to make us feel better on saving $$. But then …she always buy at least 3 packs in SIN 😂

14th Mar (Fri)

Bought from Ochanoko Saisai in Kyoto.

The curry senbei coupled with some spices reminds me of a snack I ate before. However this is so so so many times better. Every bite offers a delightful blend and after every bite you really can’t stop. I regretted only buying one pack as this is something which I really enjoy. My stomach can’t agree with the spice level but who cares!

15th Apr

Took out the snack box from BS and saw so many snacks which is still untouched. new snacks get thrown on top and then old ones gets buried. Not exactly old since it’s only Dec/Jan but the girls bought more snacks from Scarlet and K-mart here 😬.

Bought this from Okayama. This Calbee Kappa Ebisen Takumi Amabito no Moshio (Sea Salt) flavor is a premium version of the popular Japanese shrimp-flavored cracker. 🦐 from Seto Inland Sea.
And I must really agree this is premium version coz it’s really yummy. I ate 1 pack and che-che finished the rest of the other 15 packs herself, hubby and lil’ one didn’t even get to try. Sshh…don’t tell them.

Takoyaki is a big hint, bought this in Osaka. Yah, I did mention she loves Calbee. Mainly all the snacks we buy from Japan are her favourites. Lil’ one doesn’t snack that much like her sister. She knows how to eat in moderation until she forgets she had opened up a pack 🤣

So now resorting to putting this bowl, which hasn’t been stored back into the cabinet after CNY 🫢. Serves its purpose with a snack bowl on coffee table, coz most times  “if you don’t see it, you’ll forget you ever have that” - as shown with the Korean snack I bought (*guilt stricken) last Sep. And we didn’t even put any snacks for CNY this year!! Haha!

Another Kansai snack. She loves Osaka for her Kansai boys and snacks and .. junk food. She loves FUK for her snacks, ice-cream and tonkotsu ramen.

Another one che-che dug out from the box today. (I left the whole box outside the yard area first as I need to get a shelf up along another wall and start to organize things in properly. Hopefully by then I have nothing much on the floor and can dance inside.) She thought she has finished up all the japanese snacks but no… still got some more.

27th April

Hida miso bought in Takayama. I get more miso taste than the beef.  Shall I get this for che-che when I make my trip 😉? Won’t be back in Takayama but I’ll be somewhere in that area.

Okay, let’s get this posted out now. Bye!
