The sinks

The sinks that appealed to me but for some reason I didn’t choose them in the end 

(a) 

- like this cup washer. Looks more high class than mine

- like the drain. Inside is similar to mine but it has the additional cover. Maybe I’m hoping I can use it to cover the sink when we retire for the night to prevent 🪳 crawling out? 

- don’t like coz the 3 buttons are to the left side. If I were to put my crockeries to dry there, it might end up getting wet or soap foam dropping on it when I need to turn on/off the water 

- only comes in 750 x 460 ❌

- only in black ❌

- colour is probably what I wanted. You know the problem is sometimes seller will lighten/photoshop the pictures that I don’t really know what’s the real colour.

- drain is very confusing, shows two different kind. But if it’s the same as my second pic it’s what I want as I can put the filter over it and won’t risk washing down food items into the pipe. 

- the buttons position are where I would like mine to be at

- but I don’t like the knife slot. It’s a good 🪳 hiding place. Eeks! 

- only comes in 780 x 480 ❌

- only in black ❌

I’m so excited to try the prawn dumplings even tho I’m not supposed to when I’m on keto. 

Everyone except lil’ one tried the prawn dumplings.

Strange right? I thought 妹妹 likes prawn so will be keen to try. But no …. 😖

姐姐 don’t like it, says there’s something else inside. What?! Usually she will order prawn dumplings when at dimsum restaurant. Then I thought if bamboo shoots and pork lard were the reason for the different taste? A check into other recipes posted online, most of them also has pork lard. 

So sensitive, so 调吃 until like that ?!?! 😡

My Pachacco dropped one ear during transit 😭 and hat dropped off from Tuxedo Sam too. 

Not bad. I took abit of the har kow skin, rather chewy. Just ate the filling which is not bad. 

Siew Mai 烧卖

On Thu, only 姐姐 and I tried. Today she asked if there was any more siewmai left. 

Strange…….. 妹妹 who likes fishball don’t even want to try this - also fish what?!?! 姐姐 who prefers pork over fish asked for this. 

I got ready to steam for her then realised I cleared all the small bowls 🤦🏻‍♀️ which I usually use to steam in this small pot. It’s in one of the boxes in the yard now. And better still, I kept the pot cover too! So smart! 

Abit of adapting to situation so I managed this. 😂

The filling is so soft tofu like. Maybe that’s why 姐姐 likes this? 

Honestly, it is so difficult to cook for the girls. They’re superbly fussy over their food. Is there any boot camp I can send them to? 

A wrap up for April’s class

Attended my last Silky’s (Yammysharing) class. There were 2 other classes (chocolate and meat bun) which I wanted to join but no money liao… (after spending so much on Joe Hisaishi’s concert tickets) so had to choose only 2. 

Today’s class is Har kow. When I registered for her Har kow‘s class, I chose Sanrio coz the girls have grown to like Sanrio back again. Lil’ one have lost interest in Tsum Tsum now….otherwise the morning class would be a perfect timing for me on a weekend.

Compared to my amateurish one. I had trouble with wrapping the har kow, just like I had trouble with the siewmai the other day and the mantou buns 4 years ago. Out of the 8 characters, she came by and corrected 4. Haha! I don’t think anyone is as bad as I am. I didn’t have time to draw the mouth and left 20-30mins earlier to meet the family after their dinner. 

I just simply 抓不到手 with the wrapping. I mean even my easiest wanton I had trouble and needed to use the tool. I’ve watched videos on how to wrap but just can’t do it. I think I’m quite dumb. 

Thank you Silky for being so patient with me - the hopeless student. Hope to be able to attend your lessons in the near future.

Epic fail 🤣

Lil' one has been grumbling non-stop that she can't find her lava cake anywhere, so I looked for a small portion recipe and promised her I'd bake her one this week. The last time I baked was for 6 and that was many donkey years ago. Plus it's difficult to divide some stuffs (esp eggs) if u know what I mean Then suddenly she told me she wanted to eat it before piano/dinner. Rushed me through the baking time (Portioned in ramekins 2hrs ago) and not like I can poke test this, so tried to judge using my shortsighted eyes. I extended 2mins but .... the lava flowed just as I flipped it onto the plate. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thankfully she gave me the thumbs up and encouraged me "it's ok, you haven't baked this for a long time that's why". Who was the one who rushed me??🤨 #recipekeeper#

That is why I tell everyone not to gift my girls any stationeries for their birthday or Christmas. This is only partial of what they own. I've given lots away; there are some in their study table drawer. Lil one has a pencil case for each tuition bag.

I must have that one day when I pretend to be possessed and start throwing all their stationeries out.

It was an accident waiting to happen (yet again). This time involving a school bus and a motorcycle. Yup!

Bus driver is certainly at fault for not watching out for motorcycle. But at that kind of diagonal angle the bus was, assume another vehicle was involved. True enough, as drove past the bus, I saw a lady talking to the LTA marshall and saw her car.

What happened you ask?

Some idiot parent, again, like to stop their cars on the second lane to pick their kids up, endangering the lives of their kids too. Plus with impatient drivers who can't wait to move out quickly, they make that sharp filter into the first outermost lane.

Better still, one other car (I know who the grandpa is), still wanted to pick his granddad on the second lane, infront of the marshall. Marshall directed him away thereafter.

Tasked her what will happen next time when nobody helps her kill insects and lizards? Small insects also scream so loud and claim it's big *rolls eyes*. Then she claimed that she killed cockroaches in the chute area when the 3 of us were in BKK last year. That one .. I also scared lah everytime I open the chute.

The instructions was : Did u see anything interesting on the way to school today? Draw it.

She drew this.. I told her with humour, she should hv simply coloured black to show that she Zzzzz in the car or maybe draw a boring long tunnel with cars.

She almost took me seriously n wanted to erase her drawing.

See the car she drew. She wrote "Track 9" it's her fav song - Guantanamera - when she sits in daddy's car.

If in my car, she'll prob write FM92.4.

Sigh...... there's definitely improvement for functional aspect. She has to use the progressive lens that is given to her when she's doing work. Tentative she need to use colour layers which I have to make an appointment for another time next week for the Syntonics and Colorimetry Test - arranged next Thursday (4th May @ 3.15pm)

He did a few tests to see which colour suits her for the overlay temporary. It was all based on her comfort level and it has definitely changed from the first consultation.

Just before her last therapy, Ms Wong did mention that she won't feel tired under yellow lights but will feel tired with white lights. Haiz! And to us normal people we would recommend to use white light. I can't remember which tutor was talking about our yellow light and should change it. Was it her tutor or che-che's tutor? Oh well anyway this post is not to identify who the tutor is and defend her, we didn't know she had this problem then.  

Then comes the million dollar question - does she still need therapy? Wah.... $5K plus is so expensive. Have to correct her, but I guess it doesn't take just 3 months to cure her eyes which she has been using wrongly for the last 17 years. Sigh........ I thought no need anymore so made arrangements for renovation to commence. Argh! Must either plan/book therapies and see if hubby can bring her or I'll choose either Mon and Fri (if the dates are available). We need to help her, no choice. 谁叫我的小宝贝这么特别？

Not that sensitive to sugar

Was wondering why I’m not that sensitive to sugar for the past 3.5weeks OR perhaps did I really had no sugary food for the past 3.5wks? Yes, I do get a minute headache twice so far. 

Wonder where went wrong. I then thought of the Strepsils lozenges I have been taking for quite some time. Had a cough that never went away 💯 %. Stopped a while then it came back. 

Chloe Chua’s 31st Mar concert I actually threw 4 lozenges into my mouth (like a hamster) at one time so I can slowly suck the lozenges as I didn’t want to interrupt the concert with breaking the lozenges seal all the time. 

Today as I went to Guardian in search for Viocil for lil’ one, I came across Difflam’s sugar free lozenges. So expensive!! I got 2 boxes as there was a promotion going on. 

Found out that strepsils actually contained sugar!! Argh! Sucrose n glucose! 

“ his medicine contains sucrose (1.44g per lozenge) and glucose (0.98g per lozenge). This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus.” 

Chloe Chua’s concert alone I introduced 16.94g of sugar 😱 in my system. 

The world of Taobao 淘宝

Who doesn’t use Taobao now is really a mountain tortoise 

I used to get whatever I needed from Shoppee and Lazada. 

Until one fine day it I saw ads with angmoh face and autobot voice or sometimes even really angmoh voice. Checked Taobao also have at a fraction of the price

No wonder…I was wondering why sometimes the items I get from Shoppee are shipped in from China! The seller is earning middleman fee, just do drop shipping. 

First few massive buys and tho chinese not that good, still can manage. The shopaholic mind somehow will know which button to press to ADD TO THE CART or PAY. 

First buy - container to organize masks. Wondering why it took so long, ordered place in Nov and Jan still not here. Was the ship lost at sea? Or did my containers drop into the sea?  Until I went in and realised there was a message to 合包. What a blunder. 

Now everything is from taobao. Even a big bulky buy - sink!

Ok, so I've been procrastinating sewing a bag organizer. Bought these felts in early March and never got anything closer to measuring my bag. (FYI, I don't like sewing. I'll always return home with an ugly piece of work then mom will help me re-sew.

Next Home Econs lesson I return with a nice piece of work _) After my last mending job on two small pillow cases zippers, I had a long hangover after each pillow case.

Let's see how this amateurish person who uses marker, plastic ruler (and still trying to figure out if I'm doing the pockets correctly) and any colour leftover threads work turn out to be. And count how many days I'II take to complete this.

You know the usual scam calls one can get - banking, postal services etc.

Today I received a weird one from MOH something about quarantine. I didn't hear anymore n just hung up the phone.

So was thinking to self, how are they going to scam one on the pretext of MOH? Pay money to quarantine hotels? Pay fine for breaching quarantine 🤣

That being said, Joanna Wong, though I mentioned that I'm more ready than ever (can pack my bag faster than the given pickup time) to go for staycation, I know this will not come true for me 😆

Footnote : in 2021 August lil’ one was sent for QO in Holiday Inn Katong. Also when I showed bro my list which I’ve listed in my blog, he asked if I was going on a holiday 😂😂
