Comments in 2018 : The first time I volunteered in che-che's school for Teachers Day. In total, throughout both girls' time in primary school, I volunteered a total of 7 times. This year, TD was yesterday - 30th Aug and I didn't make my appearance for the second year running. 

This was my cutie pie che-che who would smile beautifully for me. Now? I can't even steal a snapshot of her!

(a) Card for her FT. Made some time back in June

(b) Card for her Chinese teacher. Made some time back in June. And we didn't have time to make more after that for the rests of her teachers. Mummy is exhausted!

(c) Pom pom crafts for the teachers - mainly Athena's teachers in school, from Berries, Yamaha. Aricia's teachers only includes a few in school (can't do for all - too exhausted + got my fingers burnt with the hot glue. OUCH!!), her 2 教師 in Shichida.

(d) The dragonfly for Athena's Chinese teacher, Chick for Yamaha teacher. The only 2 that stands out from the rests. After that I got so exhausted and asked Athena to simply help cut the black chennille sticks and paste the 2 pom poms together to do ladybirds - the simplest!

(e) Gifts for Athena's teachers in school which consists of Lindt chocolate, pom pom craft + card. No time to bake cookies this year. Give myself some breathing space.

(f) I ran out of the "eyes" for the ladybirds for Athena's teachers in LCCC, so decided not to do anymore crafts. 

Instead opted for the easy way out - buy. 

Cards were made and it's the quickest method. Colour; paste and write. Heehee! 

Gifts varies between the koala magnets, A+ magnets and a memo clip

Even the bags had to be purchased, I ran out of my white bags and didn't want to travel all the way to Bencoolen to buy. 

Hmm.........I've just realised, I'm getting lazier each year

教師 ML in Springleaf Shichida is not forgotten (by the mummy) - apparently Aricia seem to have forgotten her.... We made a trip down on Friday to pass her the small gift.

Comments in 2018 : The gifts to their teachers are getting lesser and lesser each year. We've stopped giving che-che's LCCC teachers for a very long time. The only teacher that has been receiving gifts all these years is Teacher Peggy. Maybe next year I don't have to prepare any more gifts? 

I miss baking eclairs. I shall do this next year.

Comments in 2024 : I had to re-post this blog entry. It was initially posted in 2018, therefore I had those comments on the future years. 6 years later from 2018, the gifts I left her to choose who to gift. We used to count the tutors too but ehh… no need now. She couldn’t go back to the Primary and Secondary school as she had to be back in office for her presentation. She sent her greetings to her favourite teachers via WhatsApp tho! As for her ITE teachers, she chose to gift only who she likes. Aiyah! I give up doing all these, I’m so tired. 老了! Tho I still like to do crafts, I always don’t have enough time to do my stuffs let alone starting to prep TD gifts. So what am I going to do with the cellophane bags? What am I going to do with the laminator in 3 years time? 6 years later and I haven’t baked the eclairs 🤣.

Footnote written in 2020 : Yah to think that last time her golden mouth refuses to speak mandarin and she was really ?? (or maybe she was acting. Coz when she did open that mouth and blurt out in chinese, the Berries teacher were shocked. Not that she didn't know the words, but she just pretend.)

And now her chinese is her forte. Total opposite!

Lil' girl's eyes barely open, haven’t brushed teeth, she walked out of bedroom n went to studyroom, did her mountaineering job (chair to highchair) n looked at her time-table for Tuesdays. Stare for quite awhile, think was trying to digest what she's reading in her blurry state. Did her big biz, washup, eat n did her work straightaway.

And I walked into KFC without a mask. How dumb can I be? I mean we're so used to wearing mask right? Maybe coz I was without one just now. So l looked at her puzzled when she was telling me "your mask", she had to repeat twice coz I couldn't hear her properly. Then I exclaimed "omg! My mask!" And during the conversation before n after she and her colleagues weren't rude. They knew it was a case of blunder and laughed along with me. I walked out using my phone to cover my mouth to get the mask from car. Instinct?

3rd time I forgot to wear mask. 1st time was at my place. I went to the car turned engine on etc.. ready to go out, then decided not to go computer shop so decided to make a trip home to leave laptop. Turned off engine, walked out of car without a mask, without realising it. Until I saw a neighbour walking to his car.

He looked at me, I looked at him and I exclaimed

"shit! Mask." He laughed at me. Turned back to car to retrieve mask. Maybe next time I should just dangle it around my ear? I guess I won't forget right.

2nd time, UPS called and said he's at the fire access area, he can't come up from the other gate. So l decided to grab my keys and collect from him. And yah lor... forgot mask again after I looked at him.

Today I found out from staff in Mayer that the ice-cream maker purchased here can only be used for Asian models. It's a blessing, luckily I didn't click BUY when it was discounted months ago. Imagine, having the parcel sent here n then realize cannot be used.

Put in my name and they'll call me. Can't wait to make my first batch of ice-cream. I've tried someone's homemade ice-cream and that'll make me a convert.

Can buy 4D alr. The only time lil' girl will sit down quietly n eat her meal-lunch. Why? She was extremely hungry as she didn't eat much breakfast.

Few days ago, Che-Che asked me "mummy, what is aviary?" I answered her. Few minutes later,"mummy, what is a-r-s-e-n-a-l?" "It's a football team in England." Gave me a very blur look, "ooh! ...ok.."

Today as I'm marking her work, I burst out laughing at my answer. Wah!! Silly mother!!

Quick! Must make her erase off that definition n reload new and accurate answer. LOL
