Another new Hermes

She was so excited. Over the past few days she would check the delivery status of her bag from my phone. I saw in my phone today that it hasn’t arrived SIN so assumed that she’ll get it in two days or three. 

Then in the late afternoon there was a knock on the door and she picked up the parcel from the postman. I wasn’t expecting any Shoppee so … we looked at each other. She exclaimed “is it my bag?” She ripped the box apart like a cheetah gorging out the intestines of a deer. Suddenly this girl could rip the box apart 😂.

Excursion

Haven’t been to IKEA for quite some time. Had to make a trip down as we needed to get sofas for our rented flat and our home. 

Needed to fill tummy before we can think. So it’s off to the dining area. 

I always like to see these small little “house floor plan” in Ikea and daydream ‘if only … I was a single lady living on my own.’ Back to reality, it’s impossible. I think I’d still be living with my mom if I’m still single at this time 😂, I don’t even think I earn enough to buy a flat on my own. 

There’s some kind of satisfaction walking inside even though I don’t buy anything. Daydreaming if this small little space is my living space. Ehh….altho I feel I don’t have a lot of things currently, I will need to minimise more personal effects if I ever had such a small house 😂. 

Going to Ikea makes it feel like it’s an excursion and it’s fun. Perhaps it’s that singular huge building that makes one think so (That’s why I love going to supermarkets in US). Just like how psychology works when we gotta walk the whole rectangular building in zigzig. I’m just thankful I am mentally strong and can resist temptation coz the way they place their products is so hard not to buy. 

And the Scandinavian Christmas decorations is so .. scandinavian 😂. I’m lost for words just can’t put to words. The gnomes! I love gnomes and so tempted to buy gnomes and reindeers. 淘宝 also sell lighted reindeers 🤣 and some pretty ornaments. 

I love looking at kitchens and the laundry setups 🤣. What a joke coz I hate to cook.

Simple yet enchanting Christmas decos

Omg! It’s so eye catching. Cannot buy, don’t buy coz I  threw some Xmas, CNY, Halloween deco stuffs away when I was tidying my bomb shelter back in May. No way am I going to hoard up my house again. Don’t spend unnecessary money. Maybe ah-nia can print Christmas things or do that silly Christmas tree on the mirror. But that Santa is so so cute! 

I have a soft spot for gingerbread house. So cute. But nobody eats. Haiz! 

Made our way to Courts to look for sofa. Bought one to replace the sofa in Punggol, didn’t see anything we like for ourselves. I have 3 lucky draw coupons with rhe purchase. According to staff there’s a draw at 3pm which is only less than 20mins away. I dropped the coupons in, after that I overheard a guy asking staff what phone is it. “It’s a Chinese brand called Nothing” Huh? Simi brand?

Went to the electronics section to while away time and were bored. We have nothing to buy, walking around is senseless. Worst when we have a grumpy che-che who kept insisting on going home just so she can play her games. Yah! She ever commented that her cousins were so addicted to gaming, she’s no saint either as she’s turned into a gaming addict herself. In less than 3mins, she got even more impatient and kept wanting to go home asap. She should be thankful we went up just to idle time away, she saw a standee of Ren Meguro 😂. 

Did we stay in the end? No. Though I think there’s a good chance we will win as there wasn’t many coupons inside when I drop them in for that 3pm draw. I could touch the coupons. We had 3 coupons so chances is high for us lor! There’s also 5pm, 7pm, 9pm draw where all prizes are different. The catch is the winner must be present to collect the prize. No way was I going to go back again. 

 

My rich lady

During our trip to the Jellycat Cafe, I told lil’ one that the crockeries can be purchased in Taobao. Somehow I swipe swipe swipe and see cute jellycat in copycat Hermes bag styles namely the Birkin and Lindy. So cute! Showed her and she wanted one pink bag.

The days that followed, she kept asking me when the bag will arrive. Kept checking the status on my Taobao app 🤣.

25th Oct - finally! her bag arrived. She was really excited and wanted to do the unboxing herself. She took the fastest shower! 😂

1st Nov - she finally went out carrying her Birkin and sharky slippers. What a combination! 😂

Chair n couch

26th Nov (Tue)

Couch arrived. Uh? I thought it’s still otw here, obviously my chinese cannot make it 😂. Che-che left it by the main door. Ok…house looks messy now.

27th Nov (Wed)

The 4 chairs came in 2 huge boxes. When it arrived, I was getting ready to cook the second last dish. Haiyah! Disrupted! Guy came and said 我昨天才来🤣. Yup! And the box is still here. 

Simply no way I can leave them aside until the next OTC comes, maybe we might even miss the timing if we’re away. I couldn’t even pull the box into the house! I was unpacking the chairs at my doorway for my neighbours to see 🤣. Flattened the boxes and brought it down to the recycling bin. Walking into the hallway is akin to walking thru a maze now.

Hubby took the initiative to help me fix the legs in the chairs. Out with the old; In with the new. The chairs doing their handover “pls be cautious of their littlest girl in the house, she likes to sit on 2 legs” 

The old chairs legs brought apart. I’ll bring it down tomorrow. I’ll change the couch tomorrow then. In the meantime I’m so tired. Obviously when I’m typing this it’s already at 9pm after I finish tidying and cleaning up the kitchen, and getting ready to take my shower. Didn’t even offer to pick che-che up from work at all. And I have my itinerary planning to do. Booohoooo... 

Lil’ one was complaining that the chairs are uncomfortable. Good! Hopefully this will deter her from taking her own sweet time eating her meals. 

The chair legs are thin at 1.5cm in diameter, old chairs 2cm. I wonder if it’s stable or not. I chose this chair coz of the stainless steel looking legs to match my table. 

28th Nov (Thu) 

Time to get busy busy after picking lil’ one from school. She’s been bugging me to bring her to a cat cafe but I don’t have the time. Asked the cleaning guy when I drove past if I can bring my chairs and couch over to the collection bin, he said ok. 

Decided to open the couch and throw the old one away. 

Ehh…. Did I measure wrongly? So short! 😂

Bye bye useless chairs

I brought the items down 3x. 从没下雨搬到真的下雨 . I was walking in the heavy rain when I pushed the last one (couch) out. The security happened to be around my unit when he saw me pushing the chairs out and asked me where I was going to dump this. I told him I'm going to the collection point. I suppose many people have been dumping bulky stuffs downstairs until they get so fed up, I think he would have marked me 'that unit XXXXX!' The head cleaner was shocked and asked me why I didn't throw it when the OTC was there, I had to tell him my shipment came late I was also panicking when the date drew closer to the OTC dates. 

The reason why I didn't want to wait for the December's OTC was I have no space in my yard at all. Also if they had arranged for OTC at almost the end of the month, I may even miss December's dates when we're away. But for formality sake I asked him when is the next one, he mentioned Jan. I gasped and then he said ''ok ok just leave this here. this time only ah.'' Like how many times am I going to change my furnitures. Slap my mouth I better don't jinx myself.  

29th - our chairs. Haha! Ok I think I'm marked. And next newsletter from MCST will tell us to throw our bulky items when the OTC comes. 

False advertising

With e-commerce so common now, one will usually need a better advertisement aka marketing plan to promote their products. 

Used to see ‘I thought I saw this advert before’ in many Shoppee shops’ listing. Then comes the individual .com where they use angmoh to do the acting. Recently I saw one Japanese bed vacumn. The model obviously not Japanese coz attire looks so cheena, and fake nails long long. Japanese girls very neat and simple will probably only do French manicure kind not the sharp and kill somebody nails.

Then I always end up looking into Taobao coz it’s always available there. Lots of products are Made in China now. 

Kena conned before when the box came like cheap cheap box. Worst when address and package has that very Taobao like pattern. 

So with that, now I make it a point to check everything in Taobao first and see how much I can save.
