Review of powerbanks

I use powerbanks regularly even when at home. I use them especially more when I’m sleeping and need to charge my phone. Not having a power socket next to me is very troublesome (no way am I going to put extension plug in the room). 

I always have 2 powerbanks with me. Since last year or maybe the year before, I had both the Romoss and a champagne slim charger. I lost the slim charger in Suntec together with my recently purchased fast charging Philips cable with thick protection (when I went for the Boy n The Heron movie with che-che). Seriously I don’t know how I can lose it, it wasn’t on the cinema hall floor and not in the toilet. I did check the toilet before I left the cubicle. Must have dropped into the child seat thingy. Sigh..whatever!  Anyway, I was going to change the powerbank so no love lost on that. I like to use the slim charger when I travel or when I’m out and about. 

I like this Romoss charger as it has the LED display on powerbank life. It’s fast charging like champagny. Both didn’t come cheap. If only they have a slimmer version of this Romoss with whatever specs I need, I would have bought another. Ratings : 9.5/10

With champagny gone, I was looking for slim power banks. Must be slim and good power, not those will mati after a 3hr charge. Couldn’t find any in Challenger. Romoss didn’t have anything I was looking for, suddenly there was a huge stock and varieties of Valore’s powerbanks. 

Finally found  this RosyG in Shoppee, perhaps the price would have set the alarm bells right? It’s slim - what I wanted. But when I got it, it feels like some cheapo dunno from which jungle Chinese factory with no QC. I can’t even turn off the charger when I’m done charging. The button is a small little thing jutting out on the top, looks like it’s designed by some kindergarten kid. There’s a blue light at the top that supposedly indicate the lifespan BUT from Day 01 I couldn’t even see the blue light coming from which dots. They all litted up 🤦🏻‍♀️. I was quite forgiving about this flaw, anyway once battery 🪫 then I’ll re-charge lor! And usually I just needed it for outside use. I usually don’t stay out that long outside. It did serve its purpose for a while until I noticed it depletes out so fast. I can barely charge my phone on a fully charged power bank. It gets hot too so I’m kindda worried if it’ll start a fire 🔥. For the price I paid, it’s inevitable that it’s the short lived powerbank of all the powerbanks I have. No need to bury and give the respect, I’ll just throw it down the proper lithium battery disposal bin. 

Ratings : 3/10. I give a bit of points coz it served me for a short while before it started to heat up. 

I do receive emails from Nitecore as I purchased a spotlight torchlight from them before (I never got a chance to use it at all. It’s always so cold in the NParks to try it out. With dunno how many lumens, I would definitely be able to see the drop off and prevent a fall from the cliff 😂. 

Anyway, one day I noticed they have this slim power bank with atas shell in their email. 

I brought this for my May and July holidays. Although this doesn’t have the LED display, it can be indicated by the blue light on the top on its lifespan. And the blue light is very clear. 

Ratings : 10/10. ❤️❤️❤️ With this price I paid, it had better be a perfect 10. I just ordered another one more and will junk RosyG away. Will be bringing 2 portable batteries with me for my next trip.
