Went HDL at Plaza Singapura for birthday celebration 

Wah…. first time it’s decorated so nice. Lil’ one is sore that they didn’t do this for her birthday celebration.

24th Nov (Mon)

Came back with small cake. Someone gave her

mango & yuzu cake

When I made the transfer the night before her birthday. I notice the time just as I was editing this photo. Should I transfer her $25.11 at either 11.25am/pm tomorrow?

25th Nov (Tue) HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! 🎂 

She WFH today but I was busy as had to chauffeur lil’ one back to school and then drop by Ikea. Initially wanted to get her a small slice of Daim cake from there but they didn’t have any.

But she didn’t want us to sing birthday song. 😂. So it’s really a quiet day for her

26th Nov (Wed)

She took her birthday leave (last year she took the same date as well) and she didn’t spend with us. Went out with HL. 

We collected the cake for her, one day late coz that’s the earliest day we can collect 😌. Hubby was suppose to collect for his birthday as it’s from the bank, but a few times he did let her choose her birthday cake, that’s coz they share the same birthday month. That was when she wasn’t so fussy over cakes also. 

We waited and waited for her… daddy was so excited to sing for her, his big baby. 

“Happy Birthday to my big baby”. Had to photoshop the people out from lighted candle cake pic coz everyone didn’t look good 😂. 

27th Nov (Thu)

Came home with another cake 🤣, must be from colleague. Tiramisu cake from Swee Heng

That’s fast! In a wink of an eye and she’s 23!

Can you believe it?! I only ate the cake today 🤭

Verdict :

The “birds nest” tastes more like agar agar smashed up. The osmanthus buttercream is nice, not too sweet but coz they mix in the osmanthus flowers so it’s rather bitter. 

Other than that, the cake’s not that bad.

This year 2025, I’ve lived for half a century. Damn old siah! Can’t believe my mom’s youngest daughter is already an old lady. Damn scary, the years just pass by so quickly when I hit 20

5th Oct (Sun) - I get to choose my birthday lunch treat. Chose Japanese which is alright with everyone. I’m not that fussy over food at all. 

I was looking at my RES app and realised I have a birthday cake. I never redeemed any birthday cakes from my UOB, other member cards all these years. It’s like so pathetic and desperate to redeem a cake for yourself lor🤣

I mustered up my courage and asked the staff if I can redeem this. This “cake” came when one dish was served. So paiseh when she had to lit up the cake. The girls sacrastically said “now you know it’s so embarrassing, you still made the staff in HDL sing the birthday song for us”

We didn’t do much in NEX, just short walk to pack dinner and bubble tea. So the girls were supposed to buy Nine Fresh until che-che noticed there’s promotion for Chagee. Somehow that boba pearl fan lil’ one still insists on getting her Nine Fresh. 

We’re having a drink party 🎉 

6th Oct (Mon)

Did houseworks + the extra works that I do every Tuesdays coz I plan to DO NOTHING - copy what lil’ one said - on her birthdays tomorrow. Self-declare holiday.

But ………. at 5.35pm lil’ one messaged me. Never any good thing happening when she suddenly calls or message me. 😔 She don’t want me to DO NOTHING tomorrow is it? 

Had to bring her to the clinic opposite us when she came back home. 

7th Oct (Tue) 

I’m officially an old lady.

Lil’ one is on MC today. Instead of doing nothing I had to check on her for fever, boil chrysanthemum blah blah blah. Tsk! What a birthday! 

Dearie W sent this over. Tulips!! 😃 She’s always sending flowers to me 😘❤️ 

So beautiful. I counted, 36 tulips in total in 4 different colours. There are 10 orange and double petal tulips each and 8 each for the 2 different shades of pink tulips 

YL sent this over. Wow! Birds nest to de-wrinkle my wrinkled face.

I was expecting parcels today as I received a message/notification from Singpost in the morning. One huge pack was left outside and I only knew it arrived when I opened the door to collect YL’s gifts, I think that must be the parcel Singpost is referring to. 

Declared off day so didn’t want to cook, so the man packed food for dinner. He came back with durians. Yums! All these years he pays attention to what I say leh. Sometimes he can be watching TV and I suddenly blurt out to someone “I feel like eating …” After that I forgot all about it. I blurted about wanting to eat durians a few days ago 🤭. Two boxes of MSW, the box I chose had 7 seeds, my lucky number. 

When he came back with dinner, he picked up another boxed parcel at the door. I think it’s the dryer sheets I ordered but are the dryer sheets that small??  

After opening it ….. Huh? Matcha? Not dryer sheets? Did I order this? I chanced upon Naoki Matcha Instagram last week when I was looking for tips on getting good microfoam. But did I accidentally order? But why would I order when I have a lot at home? Che-che bought another 7 bottles for me recently. Checked the outer packaging where only my name is on it, no sender name. Checked my Shoppee, Lazada, Shop, credit cards, Revolut. It’s a mystery 🤔. I left it aside and will check my accounts the next day.

Comes with a whisk too! Much better looking than the one I have at home. Three different packs, must read up what’s the diff 

In the night, the girls were forced to sing a birthday song for me. They are always forced to sing a birthday song for daddy and sister 😂 as well. I have a video of a bored leaned-back-to-the-sofa seal (coz she was clapping her hands in a flimsy way like a seal) aka lil’ one who didn’t seem enthusiastic. Next year for the seal’s birthday I shall do the same or maybe I fly off for holiday don’t care about her 🤣. Che-che never sings for anyone except to giggle and laugh 🤨. 

Dainty chocolate square from Polar is my birthday cake this year. 

At 9+ close to 10, W mentioned that she also ordered a matcha for me. Ahh…. So the matcha was from her! Solves the mystery, I don’t have to check my credit card bills anymore. So sweet of her, she must have seen my posts on making matcha lattes. I shall open one to try soon. 

I brought my tulips to the room, next to me.

Back home only now @7.04pm and I'm declaring NO HOUSEWORK DAY! Abit silly to vacumn n mop now and to do the same thing tomorrow morning. Just clear the purchases done in the morning and now and I'll try to do my imovie.

Tmrw will be a piah housework day. Will I have the time to clean and re-line the shoe cabinet?

Ah girl ah...... I only wanted to send you the important things, l end up going around from Singapore supermarkets (3 of them) to Japanese to Korean to strike off items off your list.

Wait! Still need to go ToriQ and Yakun. So strange hor..... I can buy Yakun kaya and put at home until mouldy also she won't eat. When she has no local food, she will eat anything.

It was the last 10 boxes on the shelf, it's not easy to find this at all. They have the blue boxes but they don't really like that BBQ flavour, and it can be difficult to find that too (just not as bad as this seaweed flavour)

In the same plastic bag, some marinades and I got 2 packets for her Korean housemate as well and she can give her her honey butter chips (if she feels generous)

So I was complaining that we had to send some stuffs over. Daddy was also grouching how much it'll cost. But guess what? I'm the one who will exclaim "don't care, just buy a few, let her starve, don't give a choice etc.." And daddy despite grouching, is the one who pampers his daughter and swiped 15 packets off the shelf. Haha! I may not send so many over first.

Her room is in a mess with the items I put aside waiting to be sent out. Can't wait to clear the mess.

Totally forgot how this lil' one can halt my plans with her consistent "I'm hungry".

Sigh.... Lunch at McD at 11+ after my class. My plan was to go back home shower, drop by Meidiya, Korean mart before heading to her therapy (all at different places). Then she had to drop the bombshell that she's hungry and wants to eat. You had your lunch about 3+hrs ago! There goes my korean mart trip before her therapy. There goes my opportunity for a power nap in the car. I think I can make a dash for it while she's in session? #notthetaxiahlao#

Sitting here @ the Polliwogs, I see the very relaxed angmohs carrying babies n non-school going toddlers. Compared to me with her school HW file.

Make sure she finishes her work before play.

When their kids in play area, assigned helpers n they read magazines or they go in. When Aricia's inside,

I'm marking che-che's work.

Sigh... I remember I used to be so relaxed n seem to be smiling all the time. Now I'm so kancheong n frowning all the time.

My baby is 22

Raised this guinea pig for 22 years, my experimental child 😅. I went thru my first PSLE, my teenager, my young adult with her. Lots of ups and downs for sure; lots of screaming and shouting from me but …oh well tell me which kid don’t give their parents troubles? 

My girl has grown into her early 20s. I wish I can put a stop to time from moving forward.

Our usual weekend outing for dinner. Went to NEX. Hubby gets to choose what he wants for dinner, usually the birthday girl/boy will get to choose. He wanted So Pho. Ordered a beef pho.

Brother and mom asked to meet to celebrate all the November babies birthday. So they arrange on this date. Met at Paradise Hotpot @ CompassOne 

They bought the birthday cake as well. We really went out empty handed. Haha! Ok lah…. The girls gave duagu a birthday card.

Che-che was rushing us to eat quickly coz she was so bored. Left with one more piece of cake that nobody wanted, so she stuffed it down quickly. 

And there must be some kind of bantering between hubby and her all the time 😂. She asked daddy why he is not eating the cream when he is eating a cake, he needs to eat the cream as well. Only for daddy to ask her why she only eats chicken skin and not the meat? 🤣

Pressie from the girls after he lost his bottle. Lil one gave him the present and card and immediately said “don’t lose this bottle” 😂

Coz his birthday falls on a Monday. I don’t have the chance to leave house as lil’ one is on HBL. I decided to pack a few dishes from opposite for dinner and maybe pop by to see what Sweedy Cafe has for cakes.Closed! Thankfully I did buffer some extra time on “what if we can’t get any nice cake opposite”, went to Hougang Mall and bought cake from Four Leaves. Then went over to pick che-che up from work.  

His fruity birthday cake, which the girls won’t eat. He doesn’t like chocolate cake. We’re totally opposite.
