Been boiling chrysanthemum so often that I totally forgot I have roselle at home ๐.
Ms Thermie did a great job for me, I tend to forget how much to put that I have to keep referring back to this blog. Made adjustments (again) - 30g roselle, 20g hawthorn and 130g sweetener for 1.6l of water. Altho I like it not that sweet, sometimes that siap siap taste can get to me thus haven’t really found the perfect one for my taste. So may end up adjusting recipe again.
The colour of my drink is very dark compared to this drink I bought from coffee shop before
Maybe as we all know businesses will not be as generous as home-cooked, therefore mine and most recipes I find online are rather dark in colour and thicker in taste. This bottle is graded B with 3% sugar. But I must admit I do like this better than my own home cooked.
Bottled up and left in the fridge to chill.
*good to know*
My curiosity over the amount of sweetener I’ve used in replacement. Did I overdo it? But I know I underdo my sweetener coz my drink is never sweet. Haha! No wonder hubby don’t like this drink when I offer to him ๐คฃ. Definitely if I have a choice I’d choose to drink home cooked than the bottled ones coz I’ve been trying to balance out my blood sugar.
If I based on the recipe I took online that asked for 150g rock sugar, I should be putting 150g of lakanto, but I put 130g. Basically this Mr Google tells me it’s a 1 : 1 replacement which is strange coz the next thing I check (second pic) didn’t seem to have the same 1 : 1 ratio.
I put in 130g of lakanto in my 1.6 litres drink, so how many percent sugar in nutri grade conversion for a bottle of 415ml drink? It’s still graded B but it has 0% sugar.
Finally at 10.25pm after kitchen is cleaned … I needed to plonk my tired back. Chilled drink came to my rescue.
