Made a quick (one hour) trip to Flower Dome today as lil’ one had a school trip to MAS and will be dismissed from there. So timely!
This year’s Tulipmania 2025, there will be 65,000 tulips of 35 varieties on display at the Flower Dome.
Ritually, always start my camera roll with this position shot at every new floral display
Hot air balloon
Guy painting hollyhocks and egyptian mallows
Malva parviflora (Common name : Egyptian Mallow)
Didn’t realise the brain behind these beautiful mosaics pieces here are my dear friend N.
Wait. Wait for a week (maybe?) for these Acuminatas to bloom
pic from GBTB website. Hmm… okay I don’t like this

Red Princess (Kırmızı Prenses Lalesi)
pointed petals of the Flashback(s)
Flashback are lily-flowered tulips. Tell tale distinction is the pointed petals like lilies when they’re blooming. When it’s closed, it looks like a typical tulip (as seen in this pic)
I love the vibrant yellow and orange colours, making them so outstanding in a tulips field. I want to go Keukenhof!!!! 😭 (only open from Mar 20th to May 11th this year)
Striped Crown

Oh so beautiful. How I wish I can run brisk walk through a tulip field
light pink hues on these Spryng Break. Very sweet colour.
6m-long ship to symbolise how the Greeks arrived in Troy
Yellow Crown
Next 4 pics are White Liberstar and Red Dress (huh? did they label wrongly? Red Dress don’t look like this.). Looks more like Pretty Woman.
So I shall call this Pretty Woman until I confirm it my next trip. The pointed petals is a giveaway as Pretty Woman and White Liberstar are lily-flowered tulips.
Tiramisu adding a touch of grandeur and romance amidst the lighter coloured tulips around.
Next 4 pics are Passio Sweet
A 6m-tall re-creation of the legendary wooden structure from the Battle of Troy trotted in here
Pic taken from The Straits Times : The horse’s body was hoisted using a crane lorry to sit atop the four legs.
“Tiramisu anyone?”
Red Princess are double-flowered tulips. They are double the petals for double the beauty
Looking like peonies 😂. But just like peonies this tulipa breed is very sturdy 风吹也不怕。 And often one of the late bloomers blooming for a longer time than the usual tulips. So being a late bloomer isn’t that bad afterall (silently referring to humans).
Prunus glandulosa Thunb. (common name : Chinese Bush Cherry)
Strangely there’s only one of this left. Usually they will leave 2-3 last remaining sakuras into the tulips or whatever is the next floral display.
I concluded my trip in 1.5hrs. Next trip I shall bring my sibei old model DSLR.
