Winter solstice

We eat 汤圆 (in my family) thrice a year. First two occasions will be on the first day and last day of CNY, the last occasion will be on winter solstice 冬至 

汤圆 in its round shape symbolizes unity and complete family, good luck and a new beginning. 

This year hubby remembered about it and bought two packets home. 

All eaten in different ways. Old folks like it served in a hot gingery sweet water, che-che likes it dry and sprinkle with peanuts, lil’ one likes it plain.
