My solo trip : Part 2

11th June (Wed)

Deciding between Shinkansen or not, I save 1/2hr on travel.

Bought the most souvenirs from this trip so far from Kanazawa.

Grabbed the Hokuriku Shinkansen ticket for one way. Decided not to get the return ticket yet as I’m not sure what time I will finish my sightseeing. If it still early, I might want to take the Ainokaze Toyama Railway on the way back. I can save at least ¥1800++

First time getting a non-reserved seat ticket, thankfully this is not a peak travel season so there were many empty seats around.

Took a bus instead of the loop bus to Higashi Chaya District. Cost of bus ride ¥210. Same price for the loop bus where one can use their Suica card. For the bus ride I took I had to use cash.

Hot zenzai and kaga bocha which are traditional items from Ishikawa Prefecture where I am now. zenzai is something like our 红豆汤 with tangyuan 😂. Admittedly it’s my first time trying kaga bocha, a kind of hojicha but tastes different from hojicha. I can’t describe it but it has more nutty taste than the usual hojicha. Kaga bocha is a specialty from here but I wasn’t going to buy anymore teas. Che-che hasn’t even drank what we brought back from our last trip.

Must try whole sheet gold leaf soft serve at Hakuichi. It’s tasteless, something that you do it once grab a pic and that’s it. Not recommended for those trying to impress your date lor! 🤣 I had gold leaf stuck on my lips and corner of mouth. I don’t even know how I eat

My goodness! ¥6600 for one sheet of mask. I can’t afford that, whether it’s a marketing gimmick or not I won’t be so dumb to waste this amount of money on just 1 mask. I can buy 2 packs of  Lululun masks with that price.

Came across this shop that sells beautiful furoshikis. Not doing anymore bentos I suppose so no need to buy. Somehow seeing the patterns on the sides reminds me of what W mentioned abt Hermès scarves. I can afford these “Hermès” scarves for sure!

(* as I’m editing these now in Oct. I regretted not buying some back. It could have motivated me to pack bento once in a blue moon for Che-che)

A walk in the Kazuemachi Chaya District. Love the peace and no crowds

Another popular sightseeing stop in Kanazawa - Kenrokuen
And THAT SHOT! I need to get it.

I love Japanese gardens and that’s why I decided I needed to make a stop in Kanazawa. Anyway, I’ve always wanted a simple Japanese design in my PES but ….I’m lazy as …. looking at my messy plants and the frequent ‘满地黄金 leaves dropping in my PES’ I’d be more tired maintaining the space. I shouldn’t harbour thoughts of having a Japanese design.

What I’m going to write next will make some people angry BUT I’M REALLY SO HAPPY THERE ISN’T ANY INSTAGRAMMERS OR CHINESE PEOPLE WHO TAKE 3001 SHOTS FOR DUNNO WHAT SHIT. I was able to grab my pics at the spot and go off in less than 5mins.

Haven’t had lunch but that’s coz I had been eating desserts 😂. After the garden, I dropped by this cafe at 2.47pm.

Noto beef croquette ¥450 and Yuzu lemonade soda ¥600. Did I mention that I love Yuzu? Having said that I should make a trip to Kochi, Ehime that island where Yuzu is abundant.

More about Noto beef :

Noto Beef is a brand of su-per-premium wagyu beef from the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.

It's known for its fine texture, refined fat, and high oleic acid content, which contributes to a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Nearly all Noto Beef produced is consumed locally.

Ate and quickly leave for the castle. I wasted too much time in the Higashi Chaya District. This is the advantage when I didn’t have a return train ticket to adhere timing to 😅.
Kanazawa Castle is a restored castle, as with other 100 over castles. Aiyah! Purpose is to 打卡 only.

Strolling in this quiet district as the warriors and their families + the countless numbers of tourists trodded on. Yellow mud walls, Maeda clan, waterway (not as many as Gujo Hachiman but equally charming place). I wish time can just stop there for me to engage all senses and take in as much as I can before leaving the place.

Love this place. Kanazawa has a different vibe to it. I should plan for a longer stay next time.

Wah….. I’m so kancheong. Why those Japanese infront of me take so long to buy their tickets from the machine? My train is leaving in 5mins time and …. aiyoh. When it came to my turn, 老娘 just press press press. Amazing that I didn’t go into translated page, maybe when I’m in an haste I tend to understand Japanese better 🤣 and I got my tickets in less than a minute. I ran into the gantry and up the escalator. Surprisingly my right knee is not painful. 🤣 Better don’t jinx myself as I’m walking a lot tomorrow. This is another scenerio of me going into the train quickly, this time I checked the car number I jumped in and the one behind. I had to walk from Car 6 to Car 3.
Eventually I didn’t take the longer and cheaper transport coz I had to wait. It’s already 5.38pm, I need to rest early as I have an early start the next day. So would it have been better if I had purchased the return ticket early in the morning? I think so… 起码我不会 tu si gang.

Checking 🏔️ visibility. Yah! It’s going to be a nice clear day tomorrow. Thank you 观音菩萨

First thing first after arriving in station, I had to walk over to Dentetsu Toyama station to collect my tickets for tomorrow. The tickets are usually only available for collection the noon before, I checked with the staff the first day I arrived in Toyama thinking I could settle everything at one go.
So easy peasy now that the machines all have English translation.

And I went in search for himi beef, so ex! And one big piece! My goodness, I don’t really like beef to begin with, I was hoping maybe there’s gyudon. But it makes no sense too as beef needs to be appreciated in its natural taste. Forget it! Maybe next time if I have the chance to be back with the family, I can snitched a bite or two from someone’s order.

No cow so look for pig. I came across this pork cutlet place. Porkie pig reared in Toyama prefecture. They probably drink some good mountain water. This restaurant age the pork to ensure optimal flavor and tenderness. The meat is so tender!

More info about their 猪猪

Indeed it is tender. If I live here longer, I would eat this everyday. I love the yuzu salad sauce. The cutlet is fried to crisp. Yummy*rub rub tummy*

I noticed there’s a supermarket next to Dentetsu Toyama Station and went in to look for my cooking stuffs. Didn’t want to linger around the cleaning section for long as I know I wasn’t going to buy anything yet until I get to back to Nagoya, I couldn’t control myself when I saw these 😂. I needed to get back to hotel asap so grabbed them and went back

Reached back hotel at 7.53pm and did some unpacking. Need to transfer some items from my Burberry into the haversack for tomorrow.

I’ve walked this much today

12th June

First time I ever wake up so early. Set alarm for 5.50am, 5.55am. First time I jumped out of bed without lazing 🤣. Set alarm for 6.45am as a reminder that I needed to step out of hotel by now.

Ate breakfast for only 3 mins quick n left at 6.49am, even faster than cooking instant noodles. Reached train station at 6.53am for my 7.06am train.

Took pics along the way. Bus turn here and there scenery so beautiful. I don’t even know what I’m snapping. Haha!

First, top up my water the moment I reached where I wanted to reach. Murodo, is known for its fresh, natural spring water, the Tateyama Tamadono Spring, which is a popular attraction for visitors. This water is sourced from melted snow on Mt. Tateyama and is filtered through the mountain's strata.

Snow! Soft fluffy snow! Cham! I walked the dunno how many km loop, some spots with pavement some with snow. So stressful. So afraid of falling, and I did skate along many times. Silently regretted why did I throw back the crampons when I was checking my bag EX-SIN.

If the snow is cleaner I would have touched the snow. Not that I’ve never touched snow before but it’s fun from a city gal living 1 degree north of the equator.

Took a quick break. Had my curry bun. Actually I wasn’t that hungry, I only wanted an excuse to sit down and look around.

This is my photo taken in June, melting snow, a little bit of water showing

From stock photo. Probably taken in September or August.Every season every timing looks stunningly beautiful. I want to return back again, I won’t be able to see the snow wall but I get a greener view.

Strong sulphur smell from Jigokudani Murodo (Hell Valley)

hot steam rising fast from the ground.

Makes me wonder what if there’s hydrothermal explosion? Run first or take picture first? 🤣

And I got lost looking for Midorika Pond ミドリカ池, walked over soft snow for goodness how long to find my position getting weirder and weirder. I followed a path but turns out I made a slight deviation and was walking wrongly to a hiker’s path together with a stranger. Haha! Two blur sotongs! About this stranger… he was actually quite sweet, he kept turning to check on me coz I think he saw me walking so slow at some point, because he has proper shoes he was ahead of me. He would tell me there’s a hidden pavement there and pointed out to me. Muahaha!

After some time I asked a Japanese hiker, and he pointed where I was!! Haha! Snow covered the pavement, the two blur sotongs actually walked out of the pavement.
Had to track back my route. Damn! Really damn! Walking in snow is no joke especially when I’m not in proper shoe, I threw back my snow grippers back at home (so smart!), didn’t want a fall, knee pain, tired like shit. When I said shit, it was really shit.

Midorika Pond all iced. Without, it looks lovely

From stock photo

We were pretty close, only 200m from this campground. Haha!  Anyway, after I asked the hiker directions I asked stranger if he knows where he is heading to. We both had side-tracked out so we need to walk back. Muahaha! He did continue to watch out for me after that. I think it’s blessing lor.观音菩萨 sent an equally blur sotong to watch me. We did see things along the ‘wrong road’ so no love lost but just a longer 冤枉路. By then I was perspiring like crazy, I took off my outer layer. At the end of the whole trip, I noticed a red v-patch at my neck chest area, oops sunburnt. I had unzip the sweater a little coz I was hot from the workout + sun (as I’m at an higher altitude, 2450m above sea level, nearer to the sun) and obviously wasn’t using any umbrella as I had to keep my hands free. Temperature in alpine is 10deg cel cooler.

Rock Ptarmigan. I saw these birds a few times during my walk. Each time the Japanese observes them quietly, so different from the angmohs in their NPs. These birds are locally called “messenger of the gods” and is designated as a Special Natural Monument. Whatever that means. If I get lost in the alpine walk, I’d also become a monument there.

Yay! I finally saw the hotel which is still far. I can make it, I can make it. I had to miss two bus timings to the next spot. Need to re-plan the schedule now

Finally back and I’ve finished my drink so I’m filling it up again. Just after I filled up my bottle, this group of Indians came and washed their hands and face there. Basket! Damn these people show no respect. Bleh! OMG!

Re-plan, re-plan. I haven’t seen what I really came here for - snow wall

My highlight. Of course must do the lame thing, leaving my mark which will be erased off by the staffs at the end of the day for next day’s lame tourists.

I came for this. Only opened for a short period of time per year.

Highest height point 13m now. It can go as high as 20m

(Pic from website) I was drawn into this place by this picture, really! Then it became my bucket list to see this. But of course timing matters, in order to see this high wall would be in April. I am here already at the almost ending of the season (April 15 - June 25 for this year) so I can’t expect a high wall. And if anyone were to come in April, they will see a blanket of snow over the lake, at least I still get to see that teeny teeny water 🤣

I took the 2.15pm bus to Daikanbo, that is 2hrs later from my planned timing 😂. I have the option to either dash all the way to the dam or I can turn back if I want. I’m glad I took the first option. Makes it easier for me to move faster since I’m on solo, I don’t have to wait for anyone.

After arriving at Daikanbo, I made a dash up to the viewing platform. And then back down again. It’s really ridiculous how kiasu the people are, everyone just seems to arrive one place and then queue again for the next transport which only departs 15mins later. I thought only Singaporeans are kiasu and love to queue but I’m so so wrong.

View from observatory

View when we took the cable car.  It was so packed that I had to stand so close to a guy coz people were pushing behind me for the view, and I was stretching my hand above his head. Heng ah! That man is quite short. But I was too close to him for comfort, if there were no people behind me, I swear his girlfriend would whack me thinking I’m trying to gao sua him. My taste is not that bad, he’s not good-looking at all. The view is handsome.

Can’t remember starting from which stop, the staffs all start reminding me about the last cable car back timing the moment they saw my ticket. I think most of the people travel all the way to the other side, I’m the only odd one out. So they seem to only remind me.

I arrived at 3.05pm, rushed out to take video and photos and then at 3.20pm I was already out of the place heading back. Nothin much to see at the dam. And I’m so happy I finally don’t hear this haolian typical ah-beng Stinkaporean who keeps talking loudly harping about his wife’s lost umbrella. “Where did you buy the umbrella? Aiyoh you bought in Yokohama.” blah blah blah. It’s very irritating to listen to him, I have no choice but to listen coz I can understand singlish 😂. I really feel like smacking him with my umbrella. Perhaps I can give him my umbrella and tell him I bought my umbrella in a secluded town of Japan, not your common big cityYokohama. So irritating! Ok….his daughter is equally irritating. Wah…must speak in that teh voice. “Deh ddy (voice squeaking high) I’m so cold….”     🙄😒*rolls eyes* You siao or not? No change in temperature, same altitude and suddenly cold?

No water gushing out, will open the 🚰 on June 26

I wasn’t on the last cable car, I planned to go on the second last cable car back. Nobody in the cable car, love it! Compared to the journey earlier.

Back at Murodo, I had 25mins to buy souvenirs and perhaps send a letter there. Too bad the postal office is closed. ☹️

Perfect time execution

I was tired but can’t nap coz I’m so excited just looking at the alps. I left my heart up there.

Arrived back at 6.55pm

Then it’s dinner time - white shrimp don. Hungry like siao coz I didn’t really eat lunch except for the bread

Reached hotel at 8.24pm. Started pampering myself at close to 10pm. Thankfully tomorrow is a slow day so I don’t have to leave the hotel so early.

With the music set in the bathroom. Relaxing…..

Massaged my calves when I had the mask on. Then pasted these patches.

My count for today

13th June (Fri)

Late start, left hotel at 10am. And this view greeted me

YES! YES! YES!

Heng that I checked weather days and day before to reconfirm. The weather forecast is so accurate that they for eg. can tell you it will rain in 15mins.
Should I also make a trip to Takaoka today, coz I wanted a shot of the mountains from there too? But Takaoka is due tomorrow, was I suppose to make 2 trips?  But it’s not possible looking at the speed I walk, there are sights I need to cover in Toyama today also. If I head to Takaoka today then how? 😢 I don’t think I can speed through all the sights in both places that fast. Sigh….

This stock photo shot taken in Takaoka. But it won’t be as clear as this for sure

Went to the City Hall observatory and was spoilt all 360 degree around.

Wah….angmoh uncle I take picture for you nice nice and you took one weird angle shot of me 😏

Since it’s a not bad visual day, again I must stress it’s only 60% visibility, I decided to make way to Kurehayama Park Observatory. Just as I was figuring the different options to get there, a cab stopped infront of me. It’s a hint, take a cab since it’s going to be a climb up after alighting from bus.

Nice right? seriously I cannot hiam anymore, I’m not even supposed to see anything at all and I managed to see more than a silhouette.

This poster pic vs mine (above)

Ah Pek volunteer showed pics he took just days ago, it was so clear!! He pointed out to me the peaks and their name but like I knew which peak he is pointing at and just nodded my head coz everything look like peaks to me and repeated the name like a kindergarten kid.
He gave me a paper ball n demonstrated what it is. He pretended to blow but in the process he donated his saliva on me. Haha! Ah pek so nice, cute and helpful so I cannot be rude to him. But the paper ball is so cute, I scanned the pics back home

He show off to me, then I also must show off to him my photos I took yesterday. Haha!

The walk down to the nearest bus stop is so eerily quiet. I don’t even think I dare to walk down here when the sun sets

Bamboo grove

The bus stops here are misleading I can’t even identify a bus stop. Can’t be I’m that dumb right? The buses here are also really misleading. First, certain bus stops are not easy to find. They said my bus had left but wth I didn’t see any bus leaving. The google map doesn’t reflect the bus number, so I thought I took the correct bus, until the bus turned to the left instead of going straight. Oh oh!
In total, just in Toyama itself I took wrong bus twice!!

Walking to Joyfull

Compulsory every Japan trip, at least a meal in Joyfull. Hmm….maybe I should start plotting which are the outlets we went all these years.

Their food is nice. I wanted to order something different but I miss the eggplant spaghetti

Please bear with me but I just love the way they present their food. Makes me want to do the same too. More likely I’ll just serve from the pot 🤣.

New to the menu, chocolate parfait 至福のチョコレートパフェ

Something that I is usually don’t do but I did. OMG! I always said gashapon is a waste of money. And I spent ¥1600 on 4 capsules. I tried putting in coins for the 5th and the machine kept spitting out my coin 🥲. Really regretted not trying until I collect all 6 😢

Saw a huge Sugi Drug store opposite and went to look for mom’s tape. Yours truly became so happy seeing all the cleaning aids. Haha! Cannot find the tape anywhere, I’m beginning to suspect if the tape is really even from Japan? Maybe it’s from China?

Walked to Heiwa dori street hoping to get that nice shot

Walked further up street towards castle.
Trying to get asthestic photos with the tram and mountain view. But alas! Failure! I’m either too close or I should have climbed up a streetlight pole to get a picture. I waited for the trams to come by, yes I did with an umbrella. This is the only thing I can do when I’m with me myself and I. My family wouldn’t even want to wait for me, one by one will show their angry face.

Failure! Haha!

While walking back, I kept turning my head to look at the mountain range.

Dropped my bags and gashapon in hotel and left again for another spot.

Kindda hate it when people take up so much time just to take a photo. Overheard these 3 M’sian girls, pose and then do the usual back shot. One even said 不要管我我不是重点、重点是山。Then why take so bloody long to take just this shot + many other shots? And then the 3 girls just taking turns to take multiple pics each. One even commented, this is so nice can put in LinkedIn. What?! The one she took she look sideways, boleh? Some more can say her clothes is office wear. I see it’s not even office wear looking. And then most times these people have looks that can bang wall kind, all trying to act cute. I’m sure if hubby is with me he will comment 拍来拍去也这么难看 🤣. Anyway, kindda frustrated so when one of them went to take a look at the photos taken, I slid in and stood there. Purposely stand there for 5mins.

Bitchy me pose #1

Bitchy me pose #2

Can see the mountain range behind?

Bitchy me pose #3

Me think the bitchy poses are not enough, don’t even know how to pose. How these people can think of all the impossibles and pose so many times. 看来看去还是后面的山比较好看. I don’t have the time to waste like them. I need to head back towards hotel and vicinity for dinner.

Didn’t know what to eat so went to try another stall’s Black ramen

Relaxing again. Not a strenuous day today but since the bathtub is there, why not? I like this smell - mint + rosemary. Nothing complicated but refreshing

Time to enjoy this

Unboxed the gashapons. So cute!

14th June (Sat)

Takaoka is a relatively dead town on Saturday 🤣, anyway most of my sights are just buildings and shrines and castles

Some distraction led me to the wrong platform. The wrong train I took also departed at the same time but it went the opposite direction. Oh no!

So maybe I was destined to take a train to the wrong direction, headed east so I managed to take a photo. On the journey back to Toyama Staton the staff saw me taking photo and video, helped to clean the window. So sweet of him.

Doraemon Post office just as you tap your card exiting the  station. A modern looking station ..

Cannot ignore this, as long as there’s mountains.
Northern Japanese Alps is so beautiful, I believe the sight must be beyond words when a plane flies over the alps. Aw….missing the Swiss alps. Then again, never really got a chance to take pictures last time in the airplane

Had removed all pics by the time I returned to this blog for editing so no more pics of this day.

Returned back later than planned as I needed to get おみやげ otw back. Thankfully there was no fight for the washing machine 👍. Clothes cleaned and will last me the rest of the trip. Last day here means I have to start packing all the souvenirs which I’ve procrastinated doing so the past few days 🤭

Facial mask on at 11pm

15th June (Sun)

Argh! I forgot to sync my tracker yesterday! But I think it should be between 12000 - 14000 (??). I guess I was too engrossed with the thought that I had to rush for the washing machine and then packing.

Out of Toyama. Only 4 cars. Cars 7,8,10 are reserved cars. And in Takayama they added in more cars. Now Cars 2 and 3 are reserved cars. Cars 4 and 9 are non-reserved. Green car is in Car 1. Basically they just added another 4 more, Takayama is too touristy now.

The moment I arrived back in Nagoya. Wah…. People! So many people! I think maybe coz it’s a Sunday too.

Reflection : How often do we go Toyama? I’m glad that I went and fell in love with that place. I want to see the alps clearly in its majestic glory one day.

My steps today

Oh! And this is my luggage after 3 hotel change, 6 new other places. Considering that this time I had to put in my larger compression bag for clothings and toiletry bag.

¥308 each

¥220

Thinking if I should chiong to Ise or to Hikone - Lake Biwa tomorrow or just relax and do all the last minute relax walk around?

I went out to buy the last bits of snacks and the massage thing today for myself and E, so I should be free. Moreover, the less I’m in shopping area, the lesser I should be tempted to buy things.

16th June (Mon)

Woke up 心痒痒. Will this be my one and only solo trip? Should I take the opportunity to chiong sights?

At least the weather here is slightly kinder, still need umbrella for the sun.

I’m keeping track on how many pictures I will generate from this 14 day trip.

So on 3rd June I had 30490 pictures. As at now 8.48am on 16th June, I have 38019 pictures. Out of which are many pictures I haven’t had the time to delete or transfer them into the SanDisk.

This iPhone storage may not be accurate as I deleted some apps on the phone temporarily and some photos were not synced.

Those that I want to keep but no need for iMovie are moved into these albums. Once I transfer them into SanDisk, I delete them from my phone.

Once I have deleted the pics, normally half or almost half of what I have snapped for the day, I rename the album. They are ready for me to do up my iMovie. That is when I have the time.

So the question I get asked is why do I have so many photos in my phone?

(1) most scenery pictures are taken on the go when car/train is moving. So I snap snap a lot, just coz I didn’t want to miss out on anything. The blurry ones, the snap but it’s not what I wanted ones all get deleted. Some repeated ones/different angle get transferred into SanDisk.

(2) some are same spot, same picture. It gets deleted.

(3) some are edited repeated ones but I had to scribble information on it so I kept them as I’ll need it when I do my iMovie or photo album. [Sigh……. Don’t talk about photo album. I haven’t even completed the 2008 NZ trip!]

And because I need time to do it, back at home I’d be so busy with housework and kids and all that I can’t find time to go thru the camera roll. Which explains why I can’t find time too to make iMovies. During the trip, when I had the time in the night I went thru camera roll and yup some were deleted; some were transferred into SanDisk. Still not a complete proper job coz I get distracted then I go to another day, do a small section then distracted and go into another day. Haha! Just trying to act busy only

At 9am decided not to go anywhere but to stay in Nagoya. Left hotel at 9.46am, a very late start.

Oh! I saw the Nagatanien’s Kamado-san donabe which I wanted to get last year. It’s too heavy + in no hurry thus will consider and weigh the pros to see if I should get this or just stick to my corningware. Anyway 也不是说我很会煮饭。

Don’t like this but was looking for comparison. Price is much cheaper than the donabe from Iga, it’s also much lighter so I assume it’s not as good as the one I like.

Slow day doing the last bits of shopping. So tempted to buy my cleaning stuffs and seasonings from supermarket.

Some time still in the beginning of my trip, che-che messaged me and asked to bring home her onigiris. What?! But she’s going 2 days after I arrive back home what?!
Just what’s so nice? Should check the ingredients or maybe this time round ask her to pack for me, then maybe I can make onigiri for her. ?? Say only….. maybe donkey years later still haven’t make any for her.

This pic looks like it’s taken in Tokyo, that short table in their room.

This pic looks like it’s taken in Nagoya, where our feet would face the window.

Three 7-11s but cannot find the onigiri che-che wants. It’s a bloody hot day today! It went up to 34 deg celcius when I checked on the weather app. TMD!! I couldn’t open my umbrella coz I was carrying so many things in both hands, so I was 被晒到更黑黑. Picked up a acai smoothie for myself.

The sekai no yamachan just opposite hotel. There are a few outlets near me, but coz of the timing I never got the chance to dine in the shop. Next trip, next trip I must dine inside. And I’m definitely going to book the same hotel.

@ 4.32pm - one last photo shot of this place before I turn into my hotel. I love NAGOYA!

This is about the same time I went back to hotel on my first day (4.30pm then, 4.33pm today). First day was stoked coz I didn’t have enough sleep onboard; today I had to go back early to start packing my luggage properly. Sigh….. holiday has come to an end. Why?

Checking out the things I had to buy for Che-che. Lil’ one likes this chocolate chip stick. See! I’m still thinking about my kids when I’m holidaying.

Onigiri ¥138 each. Melon pan chocolate chip stick ¥138

Wah! Just walking around shopping also can clock in so much steps? But still, I prefer if the steps are used for sightseeing 😉

Initially before making my way back to hotel, I was thinking if I should have a last proper sit-in meal somewhere but I realised the greedy me had some stuffs in the fridge + I bought 5 chicken for myself now. I had to clear the fridge. I bought few items from konbini on 15th, before checking-into hotel. Poor planning on my part, would have been over to sit down and enjoy my meal.

Smaller box with wet tissue is mine. Packed a box of 10 for the family, just coz they didn’t try this brand when we were in Nagoya

My egg sandwich

@ 10.36pm. It seems like I had been eating non-stop. Indeed, I had the intention to bring this UFO yakisoba home but in the end decided against it as container might be squashed.

UFO yakisoba brings back memories to 30years ago! Normally we will buy drystores back after our meal for our in between meal / snack before checkouts. This was a foreign thing, but because I always liked dry instant noodles I picked this. I never knew what the heck yakisoba was, I hated worcestershire sauce coz I tried it onboard once wanting to know how it tasted like, but I don’t understand why but I like yakisoba. Weirdo!

How can I forget to blog about one of my fav smoothie? I like a few drinks by Kagome but it’s just so ex in SIN.

Time to use this, the last one. I think I’m addicted to this now. Perhaps next time I should do this on our holidays too. Getting a inflatable bathtub has been on my mind since 2 years ago, I’m still thinking 🤔 💭

Scent : Hops and Valerian. At least I didn’t smell like my toilet cleaner 🤣. It has a musky smell, not really my preference that’s why I hardly use Valerian essential oil at home for 💤 . Both lavender and Valerian have anxiolytic and sedative effects, from what I read lavender is stronger. Anyway, give me lavender anytime as I love lavender. Ahhh…. Now I want to travel to Hokkaido in July. I read this combination is more sedative 😱. What?! Luckily I didn’t oversleep the next day. Miss the flight and come back the following day 😆.

Aiyoh! So blue colour. Look just like my glass cleaner

I’m lazy to do anymore research just to put into this entry.

17th June (Tue)

Sad that my solo trip has come to an end. Miscalculated my time, I told myself my train is at 6.48am so I can leave my hotel at 6.30am. I didn’t even buffer extra time for myself, I only knew the blunder just as I was leaving hotel. It was a mad rush to push that huge heavy luggage from hotel to Meitetsu Nagoya Station. Ok, so I need another trip back here so I won’t repeat the same mistake again 🤣. Smart of me to double-check with the staff yesterday the platform coz there’s a few entrances/exits to the station. I made it to the station at 6.41am.

And dang I had to bring the heavy luggage + mamasan bag down via stairs to the platform (Platform 4). 3mins for the arm muscle activity. No time to check where the lifts are. #%^*! If only I could push and slide the luggage down the stairs like I did in Venice walking all the countless bridges 😂.

A map of the station. But like I said I need to make this place as familiar as che-che & I are in Hakata Station. I need more trips here!! 🤣

Panting like shit, perspiring like siao. Why? Why was I so dumb? Not the panicky start I want if I missed my train. Although the one hour early would still give me sufficient time. I always set a buffer timing and then a buffer to the buffer timing 😉. But iykyk that I like to have things fall sui sui in good timing.

Anyway plane is at 10.25am, I chose to arrive 3hrs early. Took a slow stroll to the check-in counter and still I had to wait in my line.

Why I have no money to travel in Biz class? 😢 Soon my status will also drop coz I can’t get sufficient miles to maintain it. Sigh…..as much as I want to stay loyal to SQ, this membership thing sucks!

Some time to spend in airport so ventured the makan places. Bought some home for the family.

Sat down and had a simple yet delicious sandwich.

A mom always think about the kids, the family.
My message to them “last buy, anything from Lawson?” Hubby and che-che didn’t want (surprising), lil’ one still orh orh.
Anyway, decided to pack one chicken for lil’ one.

Checked that I have the whole row to myself the day before. Happy. And glad no last minute booking.

Flight time : 5hrs 15mins

Always sad leaving this beautiful country. Our last contact with Japanese staffs, them lining up in a straight line bowing and waving us. Them おもてなし -ing with such graceful send off makes one so thankful for their kind hospitality when holidaying in their country. Never mind, when I return back to Japan I’ll wave to them “hello! I’m back!!”

All the positive experience in Japan makes one wants to keep going back. Yah! That’s why I love going to Japan, that’s why I want to plan the next trip 😆. I want to wave Hello to them

Was relaxing in my seat when the lady infront (seated on aisle seat) approached me to ask permission if her daughter can recline her seat after take-off. Wow! First time someone asked me for permission. It’s a Japanese lady and her two young kids. Of course I didn’t mind, they have the right to do so. In the end, the three of them didn’t even recline their seats, not sure if it’s their consideration for me.

My batchboy, the IFM, is onboard! WOW! Can’t believe my luck that I bumped into familiar faces on both sectors.

When the FS came by with monkey nuts, I do my typical Singaporean everything-also-want-to-take by asking for two more packs. Haha! Want to pass to che-che. Actually …. they’ll be flying SQ soon also what?!

With L at D4R

After chatting with L, I went back to my seat and slept. I was woken up by the JFSS for the meal. Usually when I place my meal order, I’ll give my drink order as well so they don’t have to walk up and down or ask me. Anyway, I usually order water or OK so it’s easy lah! I was eating my food then realised how is it that people around me are not served yet. Haha! She served me my meal first lor!

Arrived SIN at 3.35pm. 😭 Marks the end of my holiday. Back to my slave days until my next holiday.

Back home che-che saw the chicken. She wanted, but she told me she wanted nothing what?! Wah…..then I should buy two packs right?

Heated up the chicken for the family. 10 for the 3 of them to share. 虽然我很想吃、还是让他们吧!

Everyone is at home today. Che-che WFM, lil’ one just started her school hols. Girls were waiting in anticipation for their little presents.
