Kiehls

I’ve never been faithful to a brand until I started using Kiehls (since Dec 2018.) I’ve never applied that much moisturiser or toner in my life until I started with Kiehls. Did it help me? I should think so right? I paid so much money.  

During my young heydays 

Never gave much care to the face as a teenager. There were brands on the shelves of Guardian and Watsons which were expensive. 

But you know young skin, not much problem. Got pimple? Just squeeze out and that’s it. When it gets bad, it was Oxy to the rescue and whatever facial cleanser that is at home. 

Then my life progressed to young adult and working 

When one have the earning power means I can finally afford that expensive make up - Maybelline 😂😂. Revlon, Sally Hansen nail polish, St Ives facial scrub . Note I still hardly talk about moisturisers and toners. I used the mud mask and peeling off mask from St Ives. 

I hated putting any moisturiser on my face, I still do at up till this date. Just that now I need to put in more effort with age defiant skin. 

 ✈️ -setting days 

The day I first purchased a brand so expensive, minus that ‘kena coerced’ to buy that Lancome brand makeup cleanser when we had to use Lancome make up. Then I bought cheap The Body Shop facial products, I hardly use any moisturiser on non-working days. On days when I’m working, I’ll put moisturiser just so my foundation can ‘stick’.

After some time while shopping in Macy’s I discovered a Borghese mud mask and I totally love it. I would often top up when I fly to US. Few years later, La Mer became so well known and I had to join in the crowd (FOMO). I didn’t use it for long after I resigned. Aunty cannot fund the expenditure anymore 🤣. 

 

Now I stick to Kiehl’s

Although this is more expensive than other brands, at least this is still cheaper than La Mer. 

When I was younger I didn’t have that many stuffs, unlike now suddenly people need products with AHA, then retinol etc… one can never keep up to all these new discoveries. 老人家了！

When the lady doctor in Ponggol Clinic and Dr Chu asked me what skin products che-che used, I mentioned Kiehls and they both never asked me to stop using means it’s definitely dermatologist approved. 

Shopping in US

I love it when we’re in US, means I can stock up on the products we can’t get in SIN. Che-Che love their body scrub. I always end up spending more than USD500/- just in one trip but I can’t use my Black Diamond membership benefits there or, I can’t be a member there to accumulate points as I don’t reside there. It’s not like I travel to the US every year. It’s a good thing too that Kiehls SIN allows me to put my US purchased containers into their recycling bin and that adds to my recycling stickers. 

Received message from che-che about some promo in Kiehls. Sent her what I wanted which are items not available in SIN. 

Sad that this is discontinued. I still have 2 more at home coz I can’t bear to use 😂

Let me rant on this. Why did they stop this?? I really prefer this aloe vera over the second one.

It didn’t seem that long ago when Che-Che mentioned about some promotion. Now she says they have Black Friday sale. OMG! So tempting to buy more stuffs.
